*Rosa's pov*

My mom, brother Michael, Sam, and I had just finished packing. We were moving from Phoenix, Arizona to Santa Carla, California.

"Rosa! We are leaving! Come on!" Sam said

We had to leave now. We are moving with our grandpa because we aren't richest people right now. And mom and dad just got divorced. It doesn't really hurt me. Sam, Michael, and I were never that close with him. Mom is trying to stay strong for us.

I said "Ok I'm coming!"

I put my black converse on. I was wearing red shorts and a white shirt. My hair was straightened. My friends Cassidy and Hannah came over and did my hair and stuff for the last time and it was really sad for all of us. I grabbed my book and headed out the door. Mom turned on the radio to a couple different songs

Sam., Michael, and I said to every song that came "Keep going."

I was excited too see grandpa. But I'm gonna miss all my friends. I'm gonna miss my crush. Dean. He's a bit taller than me. Green eyes. Brown-blonde hair. He wears jeans, leather jackets, and plaid. Everyone said.

"You guys would be the cutest couple."

Sam and I were actually pretty popular at our old school. I feel like this summer will be pretty fun!

Sam said "Rosa. Hello?!"

I said "Hi!"

Sam said "Mom said we are almost there."

Mom said "Rosa, I know this has been hard but you're gonna have fun here in Santa Carla."

I said "I know mom I'm sure I will."

Mom smiled and said "Thanks for trying, Rosa."

I wasn't for sure I was gonna have a fun summer but I was going to try and make mom happy..

We got to grandpas house after going around town we walked up to the porch on grandpas house and he was "asleep" or "dead"

Mom said "Dad, dad?"

Sam said "If he's dead, can we go back to Phoenix?"

I said " Sam!"

Michael rolled his eyes and didn't say anything back to Sam

Grandpa got up and said " playing dead, from what I heard doing a damn good job of it."

Mom laughed a bit and said "oh dad!"

Sam, Michael, and I went upstairs to get our rooms settled in . Sam and I got our rooms next to each other and Michaels was across the hall. Mom and grandpas were across the hall too. I got all unpacked. Then I went into Sam's room who was all unpacked also.

Sam said "Hey Rosa."

I said "Hey Sam."

Sam said "We are going to the boardwalk in 30 mins."

Sam also said "We can hang out until then."

I said "Let me grab my shoes then we will hang out."

Sam said "I bet its the black ones."

I came back with my black converse

Sam said "Ha! I called it!"

I said "haha yeah. Any new comics?"

Sam said " no. I'm sure that their is a comic store in Santa Carla."

I said " Yeah. We can look at the boardwalk tonight."

Sam said "Yeah. Michael will probably leave us for some random chick he's chasing."

It was true. Michael was a chick magnet at our old school.

I said "True. But he doesn't like comics so it would be easier."

Sam said "Yeah."

Then mom said "Rosa, Michael, Sam lets go to the boardwalk!"

Sam and I said "Coming!"

Michael, Sam, and I walked down the stairs and went in the car.

Sam said "I bet Michael will meet his dream girl. Am I right?!"

I laughed and said "You're right."

I nudged Michael and lifted my eyebrows

Michael smiled and said " I wouldn't bet on it considering it's our first night here."

Sam said "Oh wow! He speaks, Rosa! Do you believe it?!"

I said "No! I thought he had gone mute and wouldn't ever talk again, Sam!"

Sam said "I was starting to wonder that also, Rosa!"

Michael said " You two can shut up!"

Sam and I said "No we are completely fine with not doing shutting up."

Michael said " just stop." While laughing

I spaced out and blocked Sam, Michael, and Mom out until we got to the boardwalk
