Before Fame

"Bye Shawn!" I scream skipping down the middle school hallway.

"Shut up Rolf!" He yells back flicking me off.

I don't care, it's my last day of school, FOREVER! No more having to deal with all the annoying bullies! I'm free from this hell, I'm being homeschooled!

I run down the hallway to my last period. I walk in and sit down next to Lyla, my best friend.

"Why you so happy?" She asks.

Oh shoot, I forgot to tell her that I'm being homeschooled. I was going to tell her last week, but I must of been too excited and forgot. I'm nervous on how she's going react.

"You haven't heard, Rolf's being homeschooled." Shawn says coming in rolling his eyes.

Lyla looks at Shawn then back at me with a shocked look on her face at first, she frowns and has the saddest look on her face with some anger.

"How could you not tell me?!" She yells out of anger.

"I was going to tell you!" I say quickly not wanting her to be mad.

"Yeah sure, when was that going to be?!" She yells.

I take a quick glance at the rest of the classroom, everyone was staring at us.

"Lyla please, I knew you were going to be upset." I say frowning.

"Well your right, I am!" She says getting up and walking out.

"Lyla!" I yell.

She keeps walking.

I look at everyone, they were still staring, I just wanted to curl up and hide under the desk. I slouch down in my chair and look down.

"Good going Rolf." Shawn says laughing, then walks over to his seat.

I pull my phone from out of my pocket and text Lyla.

I'm sorry pls don't be mad

No response, just left on read.

The bell rings and the teacher walks in the classroom because she was talking to another teacher.

"Do whatever you want, I don't care, it's the last day of school." She says before taking a seat and going on her phone.

I turn on my phone and look at my wallpaper of me and Lyla. I frown, I don't know if I can really leave this girl, I would deal with all the bullies in the world just to make this girl happy.

I put my backpack on and get up. I walk right out of the classroom not caring who was looking or if I was going to get in trouble. I walk towards the bathrooms.

I walk into the girl's bathroom, knowing that Lyla would be in there.

"Ahhh!!" A girl screams running out of the bathroom.

"Rolf what the fuck?!" Lyla turns around and yells.

"Just listen, please." I say walking over to her.

She sighs.

"What is it?" She asks disappointed.

"Everything's going to be fine, it's not like I'm moving away." I say wrapping my arms around her waist.

A tear runs down her face.

"What's wrong?" I ask wiping her tear away.

"It's just, your like my only true friend. I don't know if I can go next year without having you with me." She says looking up at me.

"You can still text me when your in school, it's like I'm right there with you." I say pulling her closer to me.

"It's not the same." She says with a cute little smile.

"Your acting like I'm moving to a different country." I chuckle.

"Rolf, it's not funny, your leaving me!" She says rolling her eyes playfully.

"Lyla North and Rolf Sartorius to the principal's office." A voice on the intercom says.

"Oh shoot." I say.

"Look what you did." Lyla jokes.

"Me, it's your fault you ran off!" I say playfully.

"Whatever," She says rolling her eyes.

"I'll beat you there!" She yells.

"No you won't!" I shout casing after her.

Lyla gets to the end of the building.

"I'm right behind you!" I shout catching up to her.

She looks back at me quickly before opening the door and running out.

I catch up to her. I pick her up throwing her over my shoulder.

"Hey!" She yells.

"Hahaha!" I laugh while running holding onto her legs.

A bunch of people were staring at us, we didn't care, we were having too much fun to care.

I run past the office.

"Where are you going? The office is back there." Lyla says pointing in back of us.

"I know." I tell her and keep running.

"Where are you going then?" She asks.

"You'll see." I reply.

I put Lyla down.

"Come on." I say putting out my hand for her to grab.

She grabs it and I lead her to the bus loop. We run out the back of the bus loop and off campus.

"We're going to get in so much trouble." Lyla says laughing.

"So? It's not like I'm going back next year." I say.

"But I am." She says.

"Oops." I say shrugging my shoulders.

"Oh well." She says.

"You know, I love you." I say grabbing her and pulling her closer to me.

I look down scared of what her reaction is going to be. But, she just smiles and hugs me.
