hi diary, it's ruby again.
schools about to start again. Diana hasn't been hanging out a lot with me summer. it's been pretty lonely without her. But I'm getting on with it.
Today we had a town picnic. It was very fun I saw everyone. I saw Diana but her mother and my mother wanted to talk later since we had to set up our area. There was a whole lot of chatter this evening. I went to go say hi to the Andrews. I saw Mr. and Mrs. Andrew, Billy, Prissy and Jane. I gave them some biscuits and went on my way.
After i saw the Andrews I went to the Sloan's. They have a big family, I don't know a lot of them but I do know Charlie from school. After I said hi to them I went to the Spurgeon, then Boulter family and lastly the Pye. I gave them all biscuits and cookies. I went back to my family and they were talking about the Cuthberts. The Cuthberts were a great family. They were two siblings, Matthew and Marilla. They helped my father on the farm.
They said that they adopted a girl around my age. I was wondering if she was going to go to school with me and Diana. Maybe she was nice. Maybe she and I could be friends.
People all of the sudden got quiet with whispers. I look over at the Berry's and see Diana waving to someone. It was a redhead. I saw her parents not letting her go say hi. The girl looked nice. She was with the Cuthberts. They walked past the Andrews and Billy was being Billy. So annoying and mean. You could kinda tell she was having a anxiety attack. She looked around and then Mini May and a little boy were running around her. She ran off. I'm guessing crying. I feel bad. And I didn't even get to say hello.
Hello diary, it's me ruby again, again.
Today's the first day back at school. I'm very excited about going. I am wearing s pick dress like always. It brand new, and I can't wait to show it to the girls. I have my hair half up and half down too. With a pink bow. I have a very good breakfast also.
I got to school and I was very happy to see everyone. All the girls were in the front of the classroom talking. When the girl comes into class and Diana rushes over to her. She says "Anne" so I'm guessing that's her name. She had her hat on with huge smile. I honestly can't relate to her, who's happy about going and learning. I'm just happy to see my friends. But the thing about her hat was it was decorated with flowers. The girls thought it was ridiculous. But I got distracted by showing one of them a handkerchief my mother got me.
This year I'm sitting with Jane since prissy is studying for the Queens entrance exams. She needs to sit with the older students which is great so I can sit with Jane. Diana is showing the girl around. She sets her things down and Charlie and Moody came and say hi. When they did that Diana and Anne turn toward us. The girls walk up to them so we can introduce ourselves.
"This is Jane Andrews, and Josie Pye, and Ruby Gillis, and Tillie Boulter. Everybody this is Anne" Diana said with a smile.
"Hello Anne" janes says with what looks like a fake smile.
"Hello" im trying to be nice
"Nice to meet you" says tillie
"It is a scrumptious pleasure to make your acquaintances and I shall do my utmost to prove myself worthy for your friendship" I don't even know what half of those words mean.
Josie seemed a little disgusted at this. And Diana is telling us what Anne is like even though she could be telling us since she's right there.
Tillie said that she liked to read too but I knew that was a lie so I actually said it and she got kinds mad. But then she came clean. Billy came and started to be mean again but she said "ridiculous" as if that would drive him away. But it didn't work. Jane got him ways though. Diana and Anne went to the stream to put their lunches down.
It was finally lunch time. Diana said someone about Prissy and Mr. Philips, and something about a pet mouse. Do we started to talk about it. We kept giggling about it. I do have a question though. Why does Billy always seam to interrupt everything we do? But anne was explaining about it and it got awkward very fast. You see she was talking about her past families she was staying with and that's when it got awkward. We started to pack up our food because it was to gross. Diana stayed with Anne. But she wanted to see if anything could help Anne's help.
The school day ended and we were all saying our goodbyes. And as I walked home I skipped on the past to my house. I had a very good day, and when I got home my mother told me that I shall do my needle point and baking once I get cleaned up. I finished my dinner and finished my homework. Other than that my day ended and I can't wait for tomorrow. Until then goodnight.
ok so I hope you guys liked this first chapter. so I'm thinking with this au that it will be in ruby's perspective. every chapter will be based on a episode of awae. the next chapter will be based on episode 3 the day that gilbert returns.
