Remnants of a Lost Planet

Chapter 7

 John wakes up in the med room, a heartbeat monitor was hooked on him. He looks around the plain, white room. John hears the door open and Ozpin walks in.

"Ah, you're awake," Ozpin said.

"Uh, hi," John said, waving a bit.

"How are you feeling?" Ozpin asked.

"Um, a little headache but other than that I'm fine," John said. Ozpin smiled.

"That's good, now is it okay if I ask a few questions?" Ozpin asked.

"Yeah I don't really care," John said.

"Okay, I was talking with Ruby about what happened. She told me that you...transformed. Do you know anything that happened during your transformation?" Ozpin asked.

"Well I remember fighting this girl named Neo, well I couldn't say it was a fight. Knocked her out in one punch Then Roman throws a flashbang. Now I'm here," John explained. Ozpin hummed, he saw footage of the event. This boy keeps surprising him almost every time.

"Alright, your clothes are on the desk next you and you may leave whenever you'd like, today. Have a good day," Ozpin said then left the room. Not soon after, John got dressed and headed out. He first went to his dorm to make sure everything was there. When he enters he sees Ruby already building the rocket launcher.

"Hey Ruby," John said, surprising Ruby, making her jump.

"J-John! You're back! I'm sorry I started on our project without you but I couldn't help myself and-" John raises his hand, stopping Ruby's speech.

"It's fine Ruby, I was actually hoping you'd start when I was in there," he said.

"Really?" Ruby asked. John nods. They Began to go to work.

With Ozpin, he was sitting in his office, thinking. He has watched the video of John transforming over and over. Ruby told him of the device Roman had, that somehow disabled auras but John's aura was able to defy the devices effects. Ozpin made a theory that this transformation was a result of him discovering his semblance. But something was off, he has never seen a semblance like his. He sighs and takes out the thermal energy that John had given him. Glynda then walks into the office.

"Still thinking on telling him about the Fall Maiden?" she asked.

"Yes," Ozpin simply answered, leaning back into his chair. It wa a hard thing to do, he doesn't know what John would do if he found out the power of the Four Maidens. But he has technology that could possibly save the weakening maiden under the school. He hums as he weighed his options.

Back on E.D.N. III. Molly was starting to get some sleep but not much as she continuously worked with other scientists and engineers to build the machine that will take her to her son. She was currently programming some things for the machine to function. The bags under her eyes were lighter but still very visible. Her door opens and the familiar scent of cookies. She turns around to see who was walking in.

"Oh, lieutenant Summer. What a surprise," she said. The two hug while Summer prevented the cookies from falling.

"I heard what happened so I came here as quick as possible," Summer said.

"Thanks, I just hope this works," Molly said.

"Don't worry, it will. I know it," Summer said. Molly smiles at Summer's reassurance.

"I guess I now know what it's like to be seperated from my child," Molly said. The Snow Pirates know about Summer's past, in fact, she all of a sudden showed up on the frozen planet not too long after John was born. She flew through the ranks because of her skills and abilities. She even killed a Undeep single handedly. Most of the Snow Pirates thought she was indestructible.

"And don't let it get to you. You'll be with John again. Cookie?" Summer asked. Molly nods and takes a couple and eats them.

"Yep, just how I remember," Molly said with glee.

"So when do you think this project will be up and ready?" Summer asked, looking at the codding for the machine.

"Hard to say, maybe months or a year," Molly said.

"Damn, that's a long time," Summer said and Molly nodded in agreement. "Do you think there is a way to somehow get this programming to go faster?"

"I'm afraid I don't know what else to do, unless if we put in some sort of-" that's when a lightbulb went off in her head, "Of course!" she shouted. She erased all of her programming that she has been working on in the past week. Summer gave Molly a look like she was crazy. "Don't worry I have something planned." Molly takes an A.I. chip and sticks it in the computer and started to program it. That's when Summer got the idea.

"You're programming an A.I. to speed things up!" Summer said, a large smile was form across her face.

"Yep. We just took off three months of hard work, hehe. Way to go me," Molly said, praising herself.

"Careful. Remember the last time you were praising yourself? You nearly blew up a whole base," Summer warned.

"Hehe, can we not bring that up please," Molly said. 'Don't worry John, mommy is coming,' she thought.
