Virgil smiled slightly once he woke up. He felt a pair of arms wrapped around him and the same person was playing with his hair in a relaxing manner. It especially helped with the nightmare he had just had. Well... not a nightmare, more like memory.

Virgil stared in horror as Roman collapsed to the floor, blood already staining the torso of his white shirt. Virgil stood there, frozen. He looked at Patton and Logan who both had a gun pointed towards them.

'He's going to take away the first people who have cared about me for a long time.' Virgil thought.

Logan stood tall and confident.

'I could stop him.'

Patton was staring at Roman in horror.

'But could I?'

Roman was already extremely pale.

'I'm too afraid of him.'

His father went to pull back the hammer(?) of the gun.

'I... I'll-'

Virgil yelled out in anger and glared at his father, imagining him in so much pain it made torture look like a lovely compromise. After a few seconds, Virgil's glare softened as he looked over at Logan. Patton was checking on Roman who was in much worse shape.

"Roman's ok! What about Logan?" Patton asked after he had stopped the bleeding.

"Shot in the shoulder," Virgil said. Patton nodded and frowned.

"How did you...?" Patton started, unsure how to ask his question.

"I can inflict pain on people with my thoughts. That's only the third time in my life I've ever used it," Virgil said. Patton nodded before going to help Logan.

He opened his dark eyes to see Roman staring at him lovingly.

"Well good morning my dark prince," Roman said.

"Don't call me that," Virgil muttered with a smile.

"Oh come now. We both know you love those little pet names. Logan could even prove it," Roman said.

"Logan has never said anything of the sort. And we both know he wouldn't. It's like breaching our privacy and he won't do that," Virgil argued. The two got up and walked downstairs, still arguing in a joking manner.

"SUPRISE!" Patton yelled as he jumped from around a corner and hugged Roman.

"Wrong person, Pat," Roman said. Patton opened his eyes and grinned sheepishly before hugging Virgil instead.

"Sorry about that, Virge. I forgot to look where I was going," Patton said while still hugging Virgil.

"It's ok, Pat. I think it still deserves a-"

"Don't you dare, Virgil!"

"-Patt-on the back," Virgil finished. Smirking at an annoyed Logan who had also walked up. Roman rolled his eyes and smiled as Patton giggled.

"So... what are we celebrating?" Virgil asked.

"The day we became friends, Silly!" Patton yelled. Virgil's eyes widened in alarm.

"Wait... that's today?" Virgil asked.

"Well... It was actually 365.242199 days ago. Or I could say it was 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, and 46 seconds. But... yes," Logan said. Everyone stared at Logan for a minute. Unsure if they should be amazed, shocked, or confused.

"Well... Sorry, I forgot guys. I don't really pay attention to time," Virgil said as he looked down.

"Nonsense!" Roman yelled.

"It's fine, Virge. But, if you don't mind me asking, why don't you pay attention to time?" Patton asked.

"Time's just a concept of human perception. An illusion created by scientist who wish for perfection." Virgil said with a shrug.

"That rhymed," Patton giggled.

"Patton. Didn't you have something else planned for our friend?" Logan asked. Patton's eyes widened and he grinned before dragging Virgil to the kitchen. Roman and Logan following close behind.

"Close your eyes," Patton instructed. Virgil rolled his eyes but closed them none the less. He heard shuffling and opened his eyes a minute later on Patton's command to see Patton, Logan, and Roman holding a cake. The cake its self was covered in purple frosting and had some writing on it with black frosting. He ignored it for the moment and instead looked towards the frosting drawn figures of his friends. A little Patton was smiling and hugging a little Virgil who was also holding hands with a little Roman who had his arm slung over little Logan's neck. He looked towards the writing and smiled.

Happy 1 year Anniversary of Being friends! You can't leave. We're your Fam- ILY!

Virgil knew he would rather not be anywhere else. And he knew the others felt the same.
