Eddie's Point of view

I only met Mary Ann yesterday but it feels like I've known her for my whole life. I'm glad she called me, I was worried about her after the incident. I thought she would never call me after what her mother did.

I waited outside of the Lil' Record Shop while peering into the window, my uncle, whom I've been staying with owns the shop. He has the greatest collection of records in California, and I thought I could maybe show off to Mary Ann.

As I waited I noticed her standing right in the corner of my eye. She looks beautiful.

"Mary Ann... hi." I panic, I smile at her, but I'm not sure how to greet her by a hug or a hand shake.

"Hi Eddie, how you been?"

"Um-mm,  good, you?"

"Same."

I go in for a hug, after all we were so close to a kiss yesterday. Mary Ann thinks other wise and goes in for a hand shake. The collision course ended badly, with miss lead messages. We just went for a plain hand shake.

I take Mary Ann inside and I begin to show her some of my favorite records, I even introduced her to the big man himself, Elvis Presley. I began to play "I got a Woman" for her on my Uncles record player.

We begin to dance to Elvis's voice, as I danced I couldn't help but to love  Mary Ann, her hair was gently flowing around and how elegant she looked when she twirled in her blue dress. Me on the other hand, not so elegant, I kept slipping on the polished tiles. As I danced I saw Mary Ann frozen still. "Hide!" she says softly but urgently.

We both hid behind a stand advertising the latest records. "What's wrong?" I whisper. "My mother." She replies. I turn my head to face the window, and I see her mother talking to the woman who owns the book shop next door. They seem to enriched in the conversation to have noticed us.

"I'm guessing your mother doesn't know you're with me."

"Let's maybe keep it that way"

After her mother leftwe decided to grab lunch at Mel's Dinner.
