Mary Anns Point of view
The sun gently kissed my tanned skin as I dig my feet into the wet sand of the beach. I stare out into the ocean and watch the boats float on by. As I slowly slip away from reality a shadow startles me, I look up and find Eddie holding popsicles, strawberry and pineapple flavored. He hands me the pineapple popsicle and sits beside me. We sit there in silence eating our frozen treats.
"I can't believe you poured that milkshake over that guy." Eddie says staring out into ocean. "He had it coming." I reply. The silence is so thick it feels like I can barley breath the salty air.
"Mary Ann? I'm sorry...I overreacted, I was just upset and I took it out on you."
"No, I should have told you but I was afraid and I didn't know any better..."
"No more secrets, right?"
"Right...so are we good?"
"Yea, I guess we are..." Eddie says with a smile, I smile back.
"But you should have seen that guys face! He looked ridiculous!" He says laughing.
We talked and talked not even noticing how time was moving quickly by. Eddie jokes and says we should go take a dip in the water, I told him that we don't have swimming costumes with us. He looked at me with a big smile and said: "We don't need any..." and the next thing I knew I was being carried under the arms by Eddie to the water. He threw me into the water and then a playful war broke out between us, the splashing water looked like sprinklers from afar.
Later we watched the sun slowly disappear back into the ocean, our hands locked. Eddie looked at me with glazed eyes and softly pressed his lips against mine, the kiss was gentle and kind. But I couldn't but help feel as if the world was complete, but as he slowly pulled away it felt like I had finally found that one thing that made my life whole.
