Your POV
i woke up, and sat up slowly. i rubbed my eyes and opened them to notice that i wasn't on my couch.
it was my "inner world", as kemono called it.
i took the time to really look around at my surroundings. it was peaceful. there was a pond with orange, black, and white koi swimming in it. lily pads gently floated above the water.
i was sitting in soft grass, wild flowers strewn upon it, gently blowing in the wind. i was surrounded by a large forest, and the sky was almost a greenish blue.
"it's beautiful in here, isn't it?" a voice called out.
i turned and saw kemono stepping out from behind a tree.
"it's so peaceful," i mumbled, and kemono chuckled.
"i'm at my happiest when it's peaceful in here. there were terrible storms raging through not too long ago," kemono said, and my eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"what do you mean?" i asked.
kemono sighed, and looked up into my eyes.
"your family," she started. a crack of thunder rang loudly in my ears.clouds began forming, and i felt darkness blooming in my heart as i thought of my family.
it began sprinkling, the cold droplets of rain soaking into my clothes and into kemono's fur. the koi in the pond began stirring restlessly.
"when you're sad, y/n, there is rain in your heart," kemono said, and the rain begam to dissipate, but the dark clouds still loomed above us.
"i will do everything in my power to keep you happy, y/n," kemono said, and everything began fading into white.
my eyes flashed open and i sat up with a start. i breathed heavily as looked a round, and as i looked to my left, rukia was standing beside me.
"shit!" i fell off the couch as i flinched from the surprise.
"sorry, i didn't mean to startle you," rukia said, staring at me as i say on the floor rubbing my head.
"why are you here? and how did you even get in?" i asked.
"your window was unlocked."
i looked to my window to see wide open, the sun shining through it as it rose over the horizon. i slept to the next day?
i sighed and turned back to look at rukia expectantly, still not knowing why she was in my house.
she sighed. "you need to learn how to control your spiritual pressure, or you'll lure hollows to this town and that puts it in danger."
"i don't even know what that is," i said, pulling myself back up onto the couch.
rukia pulled out a note pad, and began scribbling on it. i could only watch her in confusion.
she turned the notepad to me, and there were strange little cat drawings on it.
i looked up at her with one eyebrow raised and she began explaining as she pointed at the strange cat drawings.
"your spiritual pressure is the weight of your power. the more powerful you are, the more spiritual pressure you have. while yours isn't high enough to hurt anyone around you, it's still enough to attract hollows." she said, and i slumped. that made no sense.
"right, okay," i said, standing up off the couch and walking to the kitchen.
i put 4 pieces of bread into a toaster, and began frying eggs.
