"Alright team, suit up" steve said authoritatively

The team stood and began to leave

"Uh is this a code green situation?" Bruce asked sheepishly

"Not that we know of, you man the comms and we will tell you if the big guy needs to come out"  Fury replied

A look of relief flashed over Bruce's face and Natasha smiled slightly, Bruce was cute. They had kind of had a thing a while ago but it hadn't worked out, they were much better off as friends.

- time skip ten minutes -

Natasha walked into the jet, she was wearing a black jumpsuit with a belt that held an assortment of weapons, her shoulder length hair swung loosely as walked up the ramp and pulled her fingerless gloves on 

She took her seat next to Clint. She gave him a quick smile before looking in her small bag to see if she had forgotten anything,

Nope, had all her shit

She leaned back in her seat as Tony walked in, he was dressed in black jeans, a black top and a smart jacket, he was carrying a briefcase which was really his iron man suit

"Alright team, ready?" Steve asked from the front

"Rearing to go cap'n" Clint said with a smirk

Steve sighed, and turned to Tony, who was now sitting in the pilot seat

"All Good tony?" He asked

"Mhm" tony replied while pushing a few buttons

And just like that they were off,

Natasha let out a sigh and sunk slightly in her seat, she looked up and saw steve reading the file with a confused expression on his face,

"What's up steve?" She asked and he looked up and looked at her with his dazzling blue eyes

"It's nothing it just, I mean I-"  he looked back down at the file and sighed, then he got up and walked over to her

"Look at this" he said and he handed her the file

Natasha began to read:

The base is situated in The Bavarian Alps in Germany in between many mountains and concealed by the forest that surrounds it, it is the perfect place to hide.

The file you collected claims the base holds some sort of secret weapon that will make HYDRA indestructible, it has been there for years and apparently the staff there 'need more time to crack 'em' so we can only guess they are building something.

We received a transmission from the base to another that we managed to intersect that says 'the layout is there but the bugger won't give up'

Natasha looked up at steve with a confused expression on her face,

"Uh ok?" She said handing back the file "what's so important about that?"

"No natasha, your not looking" he said, by now the whole group was sitting around them, tony having put the plane on auto pilot, Steve handed back the file and pointed to the bottom of the paragraph

Natasha read allowed "We received a transmission from the base to another that we managed to intersect that says 'the layout is there but the bugger won't give up'

Natasha looked up once more, the confused expression still plastered on her face

"But machines don't have wills, they don't have the capacity to give up" tony said from the back of the group

"Exactly!" Steve said

"So what are you saying?" Wanda asked

"I think- I don't know but I think I think their weapon is-"

"Human" Bucky finished and a horrified expression crossed his face

"And whoever they are 'won't give up'" Clint added,  suddenly serious

"I don't know for sure but it sounds very HYDRA"steve said as he walked back to his seat with Bucky

"Poor them" Bruce said, he looked so sad it made Natasha want to cry

"How long did Fury say 'the weapon' had been there?" Bucky asked

Steve looked back at the file "it doesn't specify, it only says 'years'"

"Jesus" Bucky breathed, leaning back

The group fell silent and Natasha let her thoughts wonder

Holy shit! years? Whoever it is has been there for years! That can't be humanly possible can it? No human could survive that long. I mean, maybe Steve is wrong, maybe there isn't a person there and whoever sent the transition was just using a metaphor or something, that must be it.

But the more Natasha rolled it through her head the more she believes HYDRA's weapon was a person,

I mean it makes sense

she though to herself

if it were a machine it's not like HYDRA to be stumped, they know their limits and if they want to do something they always plan it out to make sure nothing goes wrong, but I guess with a person they can't really plan it out like that can they? And HYDRA is not one for metaphors, they call a machine a machine and nothing else

She tried to block the thought out of her mind, the thought of a person having to go through something so ridiculously awful for such a long time was unbearable

But little did she know her sister was going through it, right then.
