Ch. 7: Blackout
-Eric's p.o.v-
"What are we going to do?" I asked as we sat at the kitchen table both of us exhausted from an extremely long day and realizing were we had gone wrong in our attempt to get them out of there. All we had cared about was getting them the hell away from him and now that Noel was in my room asleep and Silver was in Steve's only a few questions remained; but first where in the hell was Joe?
"We could sit here and wait until they wake up or at least until Joe comes back. Whichever comes first."
"No need for the sarcasm Steve." I spat "I can't believe he would actually disappear when they needed him most." I sighed disbelievingly. Where in the hell was he and why wasn't he here with us? Did he not care enough to want to make sure that the girls were okay? Whatever he was disappearing for couldn’t have been more important than them. In the end this affected him career wise also. It affected us in a way he would never understand though. The least he could do was be understanding enough to be here for them as a bandmate and a friend.
"He definitely has a lot to answer for and I'm not fucking around with him anymore. I'm going to get some damn answers this time!" He yelled slamming his fist down on the table causing to instantly look towards the doors.
"Damn it Steve are you trying to wake them!" I whispered yelled. “Look I understand your frustrations, but we don’t have all of the facts just yet. So at least for now can we please just let them sleep.”
"I'm sorry. Okay? I'm sorry, I'm just so fucking angry right now? How could he do this to them?"
"Do what exactly?" I asked. So maybe I didn't quite understand his frustrations after all.
"You didn't notice?" he asked and from the amount of surprise in his eyes I really didn't understand a thing.
"Notice what? I was too busy seeing red while attempting to calm myself down before I attacked Lance."
"Eric I... I think Joe and Matt are related. He didn't rush to block them like we did. He begrudgingly did so simply because I kept glaring at him and that's when I noticed their similarities. They gave each other a look that they thought no one else would notice, but I did. Anyways, I honestly believe that Joe has known everything all along and has kept in contact with Matt." He sighed. For a moment we sat there in silence as I process the information he'd just given me. Has Joe really been the enemy this entire time and we were just too blind to see it? I’d be lying if I said this entire thing didn’t have my brain scrambled.
"You know Steve I never give you credit for just how smart you really are; then again I never thought you to have much of a brain. You rarely ever think for yourself as is." I turned towards where the voice came from and my jaw dropped seeing Joe standing there laughing with a smirk and Beniyah standing on side of him. Beniyah was that asshole from freshman year and I'd be lying if I said I never thought I'd see him again. What the fuck was he doing with him? "Shit. Eric I keep forgetting that you already know my cousin. Beniyah can you believe they're actually dating them now. Little Eric here was crushing the entire time and still sat there and let you say all of that to her." He laughed as I felt my jaw tightening. It was no secret that I regretted that day and for him to throw that back in my face really pissed me off.
"Wow. I would’ve thought that the two of you had better taste than that." He laughed. “Then again if I sat there while someone ragged on my girl I wouldn’t have too high of standards either.”
"Wait a minute! Beniyah is the asshole from freshman year?!" Spat Steve jumping up. I tried to convey a look to him telling him to keep calm. He sighed as discreetly he pressed record on his phone. Now all we had to do was keep them talking before we could take them down.
