I was standing in horror, people were getting hit by lava, and suffocating in the red, fiery river that gushed and rushed out of the vicious volcano Vesuvius. It suddenly hit me, Father can't walk because he is to sick and weak, and Sofia is only new born and needs special care and attention. As soon as I realised this, I sprinted. Running as fast as I could and as fast as I had ever run before. The markets were a fifteen-minute walk, but at the speed I was going, it was only a 5-minute sprint. I came to front of the old, brick house that I call home. I reached for the door and tried to open it with all my strength, but it wouldn't open. Even with all my strength that I had left in me, it was shut tight.

I rushed to the one window in my house, to find Dad sleeping in his armchair, holding mothers prize necklace that she wore on their wedding day. Somehow, it seemed like he knew this was his final day. Watching him rock back and forth reminded me of what mother used to do with Sofia to try and get her to sleep. Suddenly, CRASH!!, BANG!! More bullets shot out of the volcano, and as I watched it fall closer and closer to me, I banged on the window and screamed, 'Wake up Daddy!' Then, as I tried to open the window, CRASH! Before my eyes, my father was crushed by falling lava. In less than a blink of an eye, he was gone forever. The power of it pushed me back into the nearby bushes. As I took in all the shock in, a newborn baby cry filled the street. Sofia was still inside.

The force of the lava ball flung the door upon and it smashed into the house opposite ours. I tried to stand up but CRACK! I fell to the ground. I looked down to see what that ear-piercing sound was. My leg was broken. I screamed at the top of my lugs, but I knew that I had to save Sofia, otherwise she would turn into father, gone forever. Finally, I got to my feet after pushing myself to the limits. Knowing that Sofia was still in there, I tried to walk to the house, but I couldn't. All I could do was limp around hopelessly.
