A/N

Hello there! :D Tangle here and man it feels good to be back. I've recently been obsessed with fan fictions. More specifically, How To Train Your Dragon 1 and 2. I've been reading them nonstop for two days now and I've only gotten about six hours of sleep in for two nights put together. I decided that I'd start my own, although I've never written a fan fiction before so I'll be quite sloppy and kind of inaccurate. This story will be placed after The second movie when Hiccup is chief of Berk. Now, because I refuse to read a fan fiction of Hiccup and Astrid, I refuse to write one. Therefore, my story will be about Hiccup and you, the reader. Bare with me, and don't be afraid to send in suggestions and pointers in the comments. I could really use some help from another point of view. :) Thanks and I hope you enjoy

Reader's POV

Where am I? You questioned in your head. It hurt, like someone came up and hit you over the head with a stone. You lifted your hand to grab your head in pain, feeling how tender it was on your temple. That's when you opened your eyes slowly and looked around.

You were laying on a sandy beach in the shade of a large cliff as if you washed ashore. Your lower legs were sprawled out in the water and your arm that wasn't clutching your head was buried a bit by the sand.

Sitting up, you used your hands to wipe off the sand sticking to your face before pushing yourself off the ground. Looking up and around more closely, you noticed a dock farther down the beach. Taking a few steps forward, you stumbled because of your legs being half asleep. Taking a deep breath, you started up again and sped up to a run when you felt you could trust your legs again. You waved your hand above your head when you noticed a man standing on the dock, looking away from you and out to sea.

"Hey! Hey, can you help me? I don't know where I am," you shouted to him. He turned to you and his eyes widened in surprise. He ran down to you.

He had dark brown hair to just below his ears and blue eyes practically buried under bushy eyebrows. He wore a helmet with two horns on either side and what looked like a bear skin draped over his shoulders.

"Hey there, pretty thing. My name is Snotlout. Who are you?" He asked, grinning and stuck out his hand for a shake. You nervously put your hand in his and shook it before pulling away and using the same hand to tuck a lock of your [H/C] hair behind your ear. You looked down.

"My name is [Y/N]. I just woke up on the beach and I don't remember how I got there. Can you help me?" You replied, shyly. He looked pleased with himself and grabbed your hand again.

"Well, lucky for you, I happen to be friends with the chief of this tribe. I'll take you to him and he can help. Then maybe we can get to know each other better," Snotlout stated suggestively, winking. You smiled uncomfortably just before Snotlout used his hold on your hand to pull you along with him a few feet. He whistled and the sound of large wings beating the air above came to your ears. You looked up and gasped when you saw a fiery red Monstrous Nightmare hovering over the two of you, slowly descending.

You pulled your hand from Snotlout and stumbled back a few steps. Just in time too, because the Monstrous Nightmare decided to just drop to the ground. On top of Snotlout. You heard him grunt then shout out, "Hookfang! Not in front of the lady!" You would have giggled if you hadn't been scared.

The dragon, Hookfang looked up at you happily and just sat on top of Snotlout. Looking down, you could see him pulling himself out from under the large dragon. You looked back up to the dragon and saw it looking at you, as if it were waiting for something.
