The next day, you woke up to a silent house. Yawning, you sat up and stretched the sleep out of your muscles before standing and walking down the stairs. You stopped a few steps above the floor and looked around for Hiccup. He was no where to be seen. You shrugged and continued down the stairs. Walking to the front door, you opened it and stepped outside.

Looking around, you noticed the multiple vikings walking around the village happily or playing with their dragons. Smiling slightly, you walked down the path to the large building you were in with Hiccup the day before. Opening the door, you peeked in to see a crowd of vikings eating and laughing together. Nervously, you stepped inside and was immediately swept away by Snotlout.

"Hey there, beautiful. Come with me to meet my other friends and eat with us," he exclaimed, dragging you away from the door and further into the throng of vikings. You timidly followed and sat down at a table when Snotlout nudged you. Looking up you saw Fishlegs and a blonde girl and boy who looked to be twins.

"Hello," you greeted softly. Fishlegs smiled at you and gave a small wave before turning back to his food and the book in his hands. The twins were too busy hitting each other with their plates to notice you. You gave them an odd look before turning to Snotlout. He smiled at you and sat beside you, wrapping his arm around your shoulder. You leaned forward trying to get away from his arm but he didn't take the hint. Sighing, you just ignored his arm and lost yourself in your thoughts.

Your mind drifted to the dragon you met the day before. Your eyes widened when you remember and came back to the present. Looking to Fishlegs, you got an idea.

"Uh, Fishlegs?" You asked nervously. He looked up at you and smiled assuringly. You lifted your hands and twined them together on the surface of the table. "How do you know so much about dragons?" He grinned and lifted the book he was holding.

"I read this book. I've been updating it and reading a lot to make sure the facts are right. I was pretty much the only one out of or group of friends who actually read. I mean. aside from Astrid..." Fishlegs replied, trailing off at the end. Everyone at the table looked down, they're expressions changing to sadness. You remained quiet, understanding that that name meant a lot to them. "Anyway, if you're going to be here for a while, you should dust up on some dragon facts." Fishlegs closed the book and handed it to you. You quickly grabbed the book with both hands and held it close to your chest.

"Is there somewhere quiet I can read it?" You asked softly. Fishlegs gave you a small smile before nodding and standing up. You followed suit and walked with him out the door. He led you through the village and down to the port where all the boats were held. You followed him up and down the ramps and boardwalks before he stopped you on a high up ledge. You looked out over the glistening ocean and smiled at the peaceful air around you. Clutching the book close to your chest, you turned to Fishlegs and thanked him before sitting on the rough wooden boards with your legs dangling over the edge. You opened the book and immediately became oblivious to your surroundings.

As you flipped through the pages reading about dragon after dragon, you finally found the information about the dragon you found in the forest. You looked at the drawing and recognized the shape. Looking at the name at the top of the page told you the dragon was a Skrill. You began reading, paying more attention to this information than the rest of the book.
