Chapter 22: Explanation

Zaira Pov:

Silence was all that could be heard. Some stared at the corpse on the ground, while others looked at me.
No body moved nobody said a word as I crawled like an animal towards Light.

The boy watched my every move as I circled him. My head was filled with whispers and I could hear them echo through my head. I could tell I was growling slightly by the way Light hesitantly backed up.

As I near him my the voices grow quiet. A smile began gracing my lips, showing the horrifying blood covered teeth.

As Light saw my teeth he gasped. Fear flashed through his eyes like lightning, giving my heart a feeling of shallowness.
My smile dropped. My mouth shut and I made sure to cover my teeth.

I look at the ground shamefully.

" Sorry Light....." I said in my demonic voice. Slowly I lifted my left hand and held it out flat. My palm faced up as I didn't meet his eyes, as a sign of sarrow and regret.
I heard a chuckle. Light took his hand and slid it across mine, starting at my wrist and ending at my fingertips.

I look down at my bloody body. I strangely enough felt pround of the damage I inflicted upon my enemy.

My eyes look at up at Light.

" I.......I'm a monster. I don't know what's happening to me."  I say in shame.
He smirks as he wraps his arms around me. Ignoring the blood completely as if it were only water.

As he pulls away he cups my face and leans his forehead against mine. Both of our eyes were closed.
Light nuzzled my nose with his and giggled. The sound was like a bell as it made it through the air. He kept his head against mine as he spoke.

" Your no disappointment Zaira. It'll be the day the sun falls when your a disappointment."

I began crying. I felt hurt. How the man used Riddian agaisnt me like that.
My skin was still black and my blood was as well. I still looked like a horror movie star.

I backed up and looked at everyone starring.
Johnny was frozen just like everyone else. Everyone was afraid. Everyone but Light. Although Mister Condor was still passed out I knew he would also be afraid. I mean look at me.

I stepped away. I felt another hand grasp at mine, my eyes traveled down to see Westly. He was smiling as he looked at me.
" M-morning Bu-butterfly." He says with a smirk.

I chuckle. My voice was still much deeper than it should be. " Hey Wes.....now was your time away from me?" I say in a joking manor.
He groans, " I-It was hell w-without y-y-you." He says as he let me go.

I smile as my evil appearance began to fade. My skin began to go back to its pale tone, my hair sunk back into its light blonde, and my teeth were no longer sharp. My nails shrunk back to a normal size and my heart rate slowed to a decent pace.

My clothes were now covered in blood and I looked like a mess.

Suddenly I heard the sound of turning pages of a book.

I turn to my left and see none other than Millard quickly going through pages of an odd looking book with a black leather spine.
He abruptly stopped with a smile.

" Ahhhh your a daemonium pythonissam." He said like he was saying the Abc's.
We all look at him dumbstruck.
He sighed like we were morons.

" She's half Demon half Witch. Her witch side gave her the ability to mess with vison and her demon side did what she just did." He explained more simply.

Everyone nods but me.

" What do you mean....half witch.....half demon." I say slowly. Trying to process what was happening.

He closed his book. " This can mean one of two things... Either your mom was secretly a demon and she had an affair with a witch or your mom was a witch and she had an affair with a demon." He said with sympathy.
Tears stormed my eyes but they never fell.

My mom lied to me. I know for a fact my 'dad' was human.....so my mom lied to me for years. Made me feel alone in a way. I know she was there for me but she left my peculiarness in the dark. I was always so confused.
It was rare for two peculiar beings to have peculiar children. Yet somehow here I was.

I looked around. I didn't know what to do.

With out thinking I turn and run. I was hurt, scared, and confused.

The last thing I could here were shouts for me to come back.

One stood out though.

It was deep.....and it belonged to a certain British boy....
