' im just a waste of space, nobody needs me here right?' i sighed and looked down at the busy city below, where the cars were speeding by, the people were on the phone or yelling, and where the world was wrong. i took a step forward and my worn out sneakers were halfway off. you can do this delilah you can do it nobody cares or loves you just take two more steps and you'll be happy again.

i was about to fall right when a pair of arms wrapped around my waist and pulled me back. i couldn't see with my cloudy vision, so i wiped my tears away and a boy my age was holding me against his chest.
'why did you do that?' i said letting my tears flow freely, he just looked at me and smiled. 'i may not know you but i care.' he said, 'nobody cares, why did you do that.' i said pounding my fists on his chest letting my tears fall on his now soaked shirt.
'i also tried to jump one day, trust me babe you don't want to do it. you have your whole life ahead of you, so go live it to the fullest and promise me we will meet again.' he said holding out his pinky finger. i looked at him weirdly, why would a boy who i never even met or saw for that matter just save my life.
he just laughed at my dull expression and linked our pinkies together.
'now if you ever wanna do something like this again, remember this. we made a promise to meet again, so you can't ever hurt yourself because that would be breaking a promise.' he smiled and stood up and started to walk off, 'i don't even know your name!' i shouted at the guy, he turned around and smiled.
'calum. my name is calum.' and with that he walked off leaving me to wonder why did he save me.
