**NIALLS POV**

Me and Liam have been sitting in his living room, both on the opposite end of each other, not saying a word.

"You would like an explanation, yes?" I breathed out, looking over to a wide eyed Liam, nodding. I bit my lip, looking down.

"Well.." I trailed off as my mind painted the scene before me. The gloomy, noon sky, clouds blocking the warmth of the sun, rain pattering against the car windows, old buildings scattered along the side of the old, cracked road. The strange scent of smoke,  alcohol, and something unknown lingering in the air, burning my nostrils.

"My parents decided to be nice for once.. they took me to my grandparents grave.." I could hear my voice fading away as the memory took over.

"After this we're me and your mother are going out, don't know when we'll be back." My father, chuckled under his breath, my mom turning off the radio, complaining about her headache.

Even when my mom had headaches from the night before she would still go out just to drink it off.

"What am I going to eat..? We have no-" I shut my mouth quickly as my father narrowed his eyes at me through the rearview mirror. I looked down, trying to avoid his eye contact, feeling his face burn into my skull.

"I don't know and I don't care." He said harshly, putting the car into park once he pulled into a parking space at the graveyard. I got out, pulling my hood up, my dad tossing his cigarette carelessly, which landed on my shoe.

"Hurry up, we don't have all day!" My mom whined, puffing out smoke. I nodded, scattering over to the grave of the only people who once cared for me, tears pricking at my eyes.

"Look how handsome you are!" My grandma's voice rang through my ears. My head shot up, my eyes landing on the familiar, wrinkled face, an older man standing next to her.

My grandparents.

"Guess what we got you?!" She smiled, revealing a spiderman action figure from under her coat.

"Ah! No way! Thanks grandma!" I heard a younger boy, yell from behind me. I turned on my heel just in time to see 5 year old me, running towards me. I stumbled backwards, afraid of whatever was going on, him all the sudden running right through me. I quickly turned right back around, my grandparents hugging young me as he jumped up and down, pulling away, and running around with the new toy.

"Wh-What?!" I stuttered, looking down at their grave before running off back to the car, taking one last glance.

They were gone.

I focused back ahead, shaking off the jitters inside me, hurrying back into the car. I tried wiping all the rain off my jacket, attempting to get what just happened out of my head.

I missed them so much, I remembered thinking. I just wish too much to be up there with them. Yeah, that's why I'm imaging all this.. but it seemed so real.

"... At the time I really didn't know what was going on. I guess I was too young to really know?" I could hear my voice faintly coming back, Liam appearing right by my side.

"We were driving on the highway, on our way back to the house... I looked over to see that a semi truck was heading right towards us and they weren't paying attention.. I had enough time to tell them so they could avoid it, but I didn't. I-I wanted them to die Liam. I wanted to die. I-I didn't care, I just wanted everything to end. So, I sat there.. waiting for my death to come-waiting for the painless and quick death... for the devil to pull me into his world.. Finally I got my wish. That is only for a split second. I made it because I forgot to put my seatbelt on.." I laughed a little to myself.
