**NIALLS POV**

"I love you, too." I looked at him, the feeling of a burning sensation rise up in my cheeks as he chuckled, throwing the dirty paper towels and glass pieces away. I stood frozen, my lips twitching as I tried not to smile. He chuckled again, wrapping his arms around hips.

"Such a surprise, huh? Why? I though it was pretty obvious." He kissed the corner of my mouth, my face following his as he led me on with his teasing. He gently kissed my lips, pulling away a few seconds later. I frowned, crossing my arms.

"Well, being cooped up in that place at a young age and for a long time, I don't really know what love is... Nor can I tell when someone is in love. You know, since my parents weren't exactly..." I closed my eyes tightly, my dads nude image popping into mind as he tried to touch me. Without hesitation, I hugged Liam tightly, knowing his buff structure by heart now.

I didn't even have to open my eyes to know it was him.

I breathed in his scent, the scent so well known now, so calming. His warmth curing my cold chills, his embrace protecting me from my imagination of horrors.

"It's okay." Liam whispered soothingly into my ear, holding my head as I smushed my face into his chest. He stroked my hair, tickling the back of my neck with his breathing, his face buried in my hair.

"I know.." I looked up at him, everything becoming fine again. He kissed my forehead, smiling against it. Hugging me tighter, he whispered,

"You controlled it."

**LIAMS POV**

I shot up at a sudden pound on the door, Niall stirring next to me as he slept. I got up slowly, rushing to open the door. I opened it, being blinded by the sudden porch light. I rubbed my eyes, shaking my head for a clear vision, stunned.

"Hello, Liam Payne? Yes, we are here to take Niall Horan." A man with white on said, smiling. I lifted my brows, my sleepy-pouty face on.

"And who said that would be happening?" I crossed my arms, my stance straighting and firming, the man chuckling.

"I did."

"And who are you?" I snipped at him.

"I'm from the Hanksville Institution." He said more serious. He sighed, shifting onto the other leg.

"Sir, are we going to have a problem?" He ran a hand through his hair, tapping his foot.

"I think so considering you still haven't told me why you want him." I said beginning to close the door. He placed his foot in front of it before I could, opening it back up.

"Mr. Horan is a patient at the institution and I've been permitted to escort him back. Yes, we did say that he could stay and check in once in a while but we've changed our minds and need him back. There is no more to say. Now, let me through before I have to force entry." He said, coming a bit closer to the door. I kicked his foot away, looking at him angrily.

"That's not an answer. Why do you want him?" I questioned, irritated. He narrowed his eyes at me, nodding.

"We want him because we're going to do tests on him to see what's going on his brain and to the reason why he is changing because what you all said seems to strike us into the impossible." I studied him, shaking my head in disgust.

"He isn't your lab rat. You can't cut him open when you please and you sure as hell can't take him when you please. He is a human being and is perfectly capable of making his own decisions, not you." I spat, shoving him a bit, stepping outside, shutting the door behind me. He laughed bitterly, coming close to me, looking me in the eyes.
