"Are you insane!?" I shouted.

"Hey....I said I would do it!" I looked up at James, and he stared back accusingly.

"But not now!" I cried. How couldhe? He frowned, and shook his head.

"You know, I thought you would be a little more understanding. Apparently I was wrong." He startedwalking away, but was stopped by another scream. What is it with these screams? But it wasn't Cathy's. It was a voice I hadn't heard in a longtime. A demonic voice.

"FREEDOM!" It shouted, as I saw the blurry outline of a little redhead girl with freckles and green eyes shooting upwards. This little girl had a stab wound. It must be Cathy. I looked back down at Sophie, and I watched in shock as the blood retreated into her body, through some unknown force. Soon, Sophie pushed herself off the ground.

"Sophie!" I hugged her, but heard her sobbing in my ear. I pulledaway from my hug. "What is it?" I asked.

"C-Cathy.....she's g-gone...." She cried on, and I tried to comfort her.

"Umm.....sorry to bust everything, but what the hell just happened?" I looked up darkly.

"I believe you just performed an easy exorcism." I answered.

"Oh....okay.......what?" Heseemed too baffled. I sighed, and picked Sophie up to carry her to the asylum.

"Not now." I told him, and started walking back to the asylum, leaving him in his confusion. Maybe he's like a Pokemon. Hurting himself in his confusion. Who knows? The asylum stood, looming over us. Macy was waiting in front of it.

"Where the hell were you?" she scolded.

"Well.......ummm......this guy kind ofstabbed Cathy........and she flew away.........so we're left with just Sophie now.....and yeah....." I tried to explain it all, but it seemed like I wasrunning for some fairy tale competition. She believed it, though. With a little reluctance. I walked through the old building into thedormitory/bedroom thingy......what should I call it!? David jumped when he saw I was carrying Sophie.

"What happened to Sophie!?" He halfasked, half yelled. I glared at him, and placed Sophie in her bed.

"Cathy's gone. Thought you'd just want to know that."

"What? How?" It'sremarkable how much he cares for this child in comparison to everyone else.

"The guy who carried Scream's body stabbed her."

"Scream'sdead?!" Where the hell were you, dude?

"Yes. He committed suicide."

"Why?"

"HE'S INSANE! HOW THE HELL SHOULD I KNOW?!"

"STOPSHOUTING!"

"DON'T YOU DARE SHOUT AT ME, EITHER! FOR GOD'S SAKE, YOU'RE THE MOST UNBEARABLE ONE HERE! NOW STOP BEING ALITTLE BITCH AND GO OUT DOING WHATEVER YOU AND MAX DO IN YOUR SPARE EVENINGS!" And he actually shut up. Who would havethought he would. He stood up, and walked out of the room, yelling Max's name.

"Miss Alice?" Sophie's sweet little voice asked quietly.

"Yes,Sophie?" I tried to ask as nicely, thinking she'd want a glass of water.

"Do you think you'll ever like David like he likes you?" I wasn't prepared for such a question. No one would have been.

"What? What do youmean?"

She answered me in a tired voice, "David said he thinks you'd be a cool friend. He says you're interesting. He got you out of yourasylum because he thought you were suffering in there."

"Well, he was right about that." I laughed. Thank god. A friend. For a moment there, Iwas afraid that the murderer of my mother and the friend of the murderer of my father liked me. And that would be weird. Who doesn't agree?I think quite a few people do agree.
