After Jayden and Alex had gotten the next cake, the Tuxedo Cake, Jayden dropped Alex off at school and ran the cake to Alex's house, he was the only other person, other than Alex's parents and older sister, who knew the garage code to her house.
Jayden was trusted and adored by Alex's family and Jayden and Alex joked that her parents might entrust Alex's birth certificate and social security number to Jayden if he asked. Alex and Jayden even knew each other's credit card pins and they both had the others finger frint in their phone. They trusted each other above anyone else in the whole world and that's something both of them loved about the other, they were able to trust each other through anything.
Alex sat alone in the library again, eating the little bit left of the Chocolate Moose Cake as she watched Netflix on her phone. When the bell wrang she went to advisory, her advisor, Mrs. C., explained to her class that we should "take pride in our school" and pick up the trash with a "campus cleanup". Alex could tell this was going to be boring. Her class was assigned to the football field and under the bleachers.
Her advisory class walked out to the football feild, talking with their friends and laughing about who knows what. Alex looked for Jayden, she knew he would come find her even if he had to split off from his advisory's assigned area.
Alex took her trash bag and walked out onto the football feild, she picked up a few small pieces of trash, ignoring the groups of conversing friends walking past her.
"Number seventeen waiting to take the catch, Johnson throws!" Alex heard Jayden's familiar voice and looked up just in time to see him throw a popcan at her. She caught it and Jayden threw his hands in the air.
"Number seventeen catches the throw and scores!" Jayden calls cupping his hands over his mouth and mimicking a cheering crowd. Alex smiled at him as he jogged over to her, he nudged her playfully.
"It seems your birthday is a little trashy right now." a stupid grin spread across Jayden's face as he raised his eyebrows at Alex. She scoffed.
"You know what it could be bager." she said, raising her garbage bag with a quirky smile on her face.
"That was horrible." Jayden laughed. Alex nodded.
"I know." she laughed with him. After school Jayden let Alex drive his jeep back to her house. When they got in the door Alex stopped. There were two large and very overly stuffed pillows on the kitchen island.
"What is this?" Alex asked. Jayden had a very handsome smile on his lips, mischief glinting in his eyes.
"Pillow fight!" he shouted and dashed for the counter.
Alex laughed and ran after him, ditching her backpack at the door. They reached their pillows at the exact same time and instantly swung them into each other with all their might.
Jayden laughed and Alex screamed and Jayden ran to the couch in the living room and jumped on the cushions.
"Come on Alex! Is that all you've got!?" Jayden called to her. Alex laughed and ran into the living room and chased Jayden, both of them jumping from couch to couch as they hit each other with their pillows. Jayden slipped backwards off one of the couches and Alex jumped off the couch and brought her pillow down on him as hard as she could.
Jayden yelped and covered his head, curling up into the fetal position on the floor as she hit him with her pillow over and over.
He scrambled to his feet and grabbed his pillow as he ran up the stairs to her room. He jumped on her bed and rounded on her, his pillow ready.
Alex smiled slyly as she raised her pillow and advanced on him. She jumped on the bed with him and their battle ensued until they were both exhausted and laughing so hard they could hardly breath.
The two of them collapsed side by side on Alex's ounce newly made bed which was now showing the aftermath of the battle between the two of them that had been waged on it. The two of them stared up at the ceiling as they breathed heavily. Jayden looked over at Alex, her hair all over her face from the head shots he had given her. He smiled at how beautiful she was. He grabbed his pillow with one hand and plopped it on her face gently. She laughed and threw it back in his face in response.
He laughed and threw it aside. The two of them laid there for several quiet minutes, just enjoying the others company. Secretly both of them knew that this was where the other belonged, right by their side, both of them felt more at home than they ever did with the other laying next to them.
Jayden sat up and went to the kitchen while Alex stayed on her bed, watching the ceiling. Jayden returned with the Tuxedo Cake he retrieved from the fridge and two forks. He set it on the bed between them and layed down again. Raising his fork to Alex's.
"Cheers." he said through a cheery smile. Alex smiled back with the lips Jayden thought were more perfect than any woman's lips could ever be.
"Cheers." Alex said and they clinked their metal forks together and dug into the cake. It was about the size of two of the Chocolate Moose Cakes and was rectangular but had about five layers of deliciousness.
The two of them talked and laughed for an hour, slowly taking bites of the Tuxedo Cake that sat on Alex's covers between them. They criticized TV shows on Alex's phone and shared funny YouTube videos they had found. They even watched a movie, passing Alex's phone back and forth when the others arm got tired.
Four hours and a whole Tuxedo Cake later the two of them sat up and walked down stairs. As Jayden opened the door to leave Alex rushed to him and threw her arms around his neck, she had to stand on the tips of her toes to reach her arms all the way around his neck. Jayden hugged her tightly and closed his eyes, burrying his face in her hair slightly as he took in her beautiful scent of cleanliness and roses. He smiled softly, she was perfect.
