Sparks. The first sign of meeting your soulmate. The first thing that either of them felt as she ran into the King, a man that she should very much be fearing.
Charlotte began to loose her footing, while he had barely caught his balance, his hands quickly reaching out to her slim waist to hold her steady.
He was in awe of the woman that stood in front of him. The sun hit her pale blonde hair perfectly, the strands looking as if they were just a shade or two away from silver. Dante's fingers dug into her waist, the navy color in his eyes darkened, his pupils dilating as he gazed at the woman that had been tied to him.
Its funny how the best people come into someones life at the worst time possible.
She could already feel her hands shaking against his chest, in a blur of movements he had stabilized the small woman against him, while she had no idea how he had moved so quickly. She didn't dare to look up, already knowing that the man she had run into was her soulmate -- the man that was tied to her for all of eternity.
Charlotte could not believe this was happening.
Her fingers pressed against the crisp fabric of his white shirt, she was afraid she would mark him with the dirtiness of her fingers. Charlotte bit the inside of her lip as she eyed her hands. He stood completely still, his eyes never leaving the light skin, freckles could be seen from his view upon her face.
The couple didn't notice the curious glanced that were sent their way, while many wondered why the man had even glanced at the young woman. Around here, she was known for what happened to her parents, many even blaming her for her parents deaths.
She needed to get away from him, while he was perfectly fine with their close proximity.
It seemed that Charlotte wasn't as ready for her soulmate as she believed she was, Dante was more than ready. All it took was one glance at the petite female, he wanted to protect her from the bad of this world, she was tied to him -- it was his job to protect her.
"I..um, I'm so sorry." Charlotte spoke timidly, her head barely glancing up, meeting his eyes, a gasp barely leaving her lips as her emerald colored eyes met his navy ones.
The Gods and Goddesses must have spent some extra time on him.
Dante's heart seemed to beat out of his chest as he peered into the woman eyes, his mind clearly being made up in that moment. She would come back to the castle with him, he just needed her name.
A slight smirk appeared on his lips as he noted that her lips parted, she was more beautiful that he believed she would be.
No one could ever know who Aphrodite had paired their souls with, not until the pair met. The souls were tied together, each being perfectly complimenting the other. It was a story every child had been told at one point.
She was his everything, while he was her everything - even if the two had no idea how much they needed each other.
His eyes traveled down her neck, meeting with the hemline of the sweater she had been wearing. Another smirk formed over his full lips.
"That sweater looks good on you, darling."
A bright blush spread over Charlotte's cheeks, her hands trembled as she peered up at him, her emerald colored eyes tracing over his face structure.
"Thank you." She said softly, her hands pulling away from where they had settled on his chest. To her relief, there had been no marks left on his shirt. His hands stayed on her waist, holding her close to him as he admired the woman.
"What is your name, αγάπη μου?"Charlotte tilted her head as he spoke , she wasn't fluent in Greek. She had never received enough schooling, working in a household was a full time job, it had been since she was young.
Dante gazed at the woman encouragingly, in a way that he was showing he was eager to hear his name. She would have to wait to know his until they reached the palace -- it wasn't safe for him outside the golden gates now, neither was it for her.
"Charlotte Adams." She spoke softly, her voice sounding like a melody to his ears. He wanted to take her to his home.
His eyes wandered to the street around them, mothers escorting their children to school, while others moved to the bus stop, heading to work within Apollo. Time seemed to slow while he had ogled at the woman in front of him.
Why hadn't she met him before hand? Why was she meeting him now?
Why was he meeting her now?
Fate had aligned their paths, whether they knew about it or not.
"Where do you live, Charlotte?" Dante asked, his voice coming out deep and clear to the being in front of him. Her eyes widened slightly, the emerald color gleaming in the sunlight as he glanced down at her, his brow tilting.
She bit the inside of her lip, her head turning to gaze behind her. "Just down that street." She spoke simply, to everyone around her, it seemed as if the lowest caste was whom she embodied.
He gazed at her like she was a queen. His queen.
Dante's hands suddenly pulled from her waist, Charlottes heart dropping as he peered to their left, the door to one of the tunnels; only personal with access to the palace had access to the tunnels.
"I need you to come with me Charlotte."
