Weeks went by, and so did daily injections of the 'Super Soldier Serum'. Tessa was in a constant state of pain, with the fluid flowing through her and the trainings and beatings Hydra put her through. As Dr. Volkov said, she was becoming stronger and faster-more like the weapon Hydra wanted her to be-everyday. They taught her hand to hand combat, and Tess learnt how to use what seemed like every gun ever made. Her aim was exquisite; she never missed.

As she was being led back to her cell from another training, Tessa looked into one of the labs, and froze to the spot. There, strapped down to a table, screaming and thrashing, was her little brother, Jackson.

Rage filled Tessa from head to toe. With no hesitation, she grabbed a gun off of one of the guards belts and with a shot to the head each, they were both on the ground, dead. Tess kicked down the door to the lab, seeing red. She immediately shot the two scientists in the room, but the one of the guards had managed to pull a gun out. Before he could make a move, Tessa had kicked the gun out of his hand and used the one that she stole to hit him in the nose, driving the bone back into his brain, killing him instantly. The other three guards in the room put up a fight, but it was only a matter of time before Tessa ended them too.

The tireless training that Hydra had put her through had backfired; she had now just taken down six guards and two scientists with ease. Rushing over to her five year old brother before any more guards came, Tessa could see the life draining out of his face.

"Jack? Jackie! Hold on buddy, please, stay with me, I'll get us out of here." She pleaded with him, but it was too late. Jack's body could not handle the serum, and it ended up killing him. A wounded wail erupted from Tessa, and she collapsed to the floor. A pain like nothing she had never ever experienced took over her body. This pain was different to the pain she experienced when she was injected or when she was being beaten. No, this was an emotional pain, one that felt like her insides were being ripped apart. Unbearable agony.

———

Guards rushed in from every entrance, and when Tessa turned to face them, they saw a manic look in her eye. The look of a killer. All morals had been blown out of the window when they killed Jack, and now Tessa felt nothing. When she killed 12 guards, she felt nothing. When she was eventually overpowered and taken back to her cell, she felt nothing. When they beat her senseless for her killing spree, she felt nothing.

She felt nothing.
