I woke up to my alarm clock going off. I was back at my house. I guess Riley's mom dropped me off. I sighed. Today was the day of the dance. I was dreading it. I was trying to decide whether I was even going to go or not, considering I'd be very bored. I sighed and decided I couldn't let my friends down. I fish tail braided my hair. I put on pair of light wash skinny jeans black Aztec print footie boots with little dangly pompoms on them. I put on a plain black over sized long sleeved t-shirt so I didn't look fat. I always walked with my head down and I had scars all along both of my wrists and thighs. The reason I never wore makeup is because I cry so much. You can call me a cry baby, I don't even care.

I grabbed my book bag and hopped into my light blue jeep and headed to the hell hole. I sat in the classes bored out my mind until lunch. My friends went out to lunch for sushi but I didn't wanna go. As I was walking to the library, someone grabbed my ankle causing me to trip. Laughter surrounded me. I backed up against the locker that felt cold as ice. I gulped and someone put a hand around my throat. Nash, the most aggressive.

"Hey fat ass! Did you finally realize that your a worthless piece of shit?" He said.

"Yes..." I tried to say but I couldn't breathe and I was crying to hard. He punched me in the nose and I dropped to the floor as they all walked away. Except Taylor. He stood there and offered me a hand. I took it and stood up and ran away. He stood there calling my name with a sympathetic look on his face. How did nobody see this? I stood up after I was sure they were gone and ran to the library. No one was there. I ran under the desk by the computers and hid. I cried and cried for I think 3 hours. At least the day was over. I stood up and went to the bathroom to clean up the now dry blood of my face. My eyes we bloodshot and I looked very pale. When I left the bathroom and walked to my car and drove home. I had to get ready for this dance by 6. I put on a little foundation, blush, mascara, red lip stick, and did a Smokey eye. For once I felt pretty.

I was upset and didn't really wanna go because I didn't get asked by a boy, but I did it for my friends. A few minutes later, Katy, Riley, and Kiera showed up. I took one more quick glance in the mirror. I sprayed some Justin Bieber perfume and tried to walk down the steps without falling. I'm not used to wearing heels. Sneakers usually do it for me. I walked out of the front door and hopped into the back seat of Katy's silver Mazda 3.

"You look great!" Katy said smiling.

"Thanks, you too!" I exclaimed, smiling. Maybe the dance won't be so bad after all. The ride was really awkward because they were talking about stuff that I had know idea existed. But I pretended to go along with it.

"Right Tanner?" Katy said as we pulled into the parking lot.

"Yeah." I said even though I didn't know what I was replying to. When we walked in, I walked over to a table and sat down. From what I could see I was the only one without a date. Everyone was dancing and they all looked so happy. Laughing, and talking, and just enjoying themselves. Meanwhile, I sat in a chair by myself watching everybody else have fun.

'Maybe coming tonight wasn't such a good idea...' I thought to myself as I straightened out my  dress.

The DJ played a slow song next. I sighed. I sat here all night, no one to dance with. I wanted something to do for now. I stood up to walk outside and go to the car when someone tapped me on the shoulder. I was planning on going to the car and watching Netflix on my phone until the dance was over. There stood a guy with brown hair and chocolatey brown eyes. Taylor.

     "Wanna dance?" He asked.

"I-uh... yea sure! But don't you wanna trip me first?" I snapped, regretting it immediately after. He just chuckled and took my hand and led me to the floor.

"Tell me about yourself." he said.

"Okay, well um? My favorite color is teal, my favorite animal is a cat, my favorite food is pizza, and my favorite band is My Chemical Romance. "

"Cool, looks like we have a lot in common!" he said smiling. Does he not realize who I am? The girl that him and his friends bullied since 3rd grade. I shook the thought away as the song ended. I smiled and waved bye to him, and I ended up tripping and breaking my heel off. Everyone laughed, even my friends. My best friends. I took my shoes off and and threw them in the trash. I stormed out of the school, not even realizing that the rain probably made me look like a clown, and made my hair wet causing my loose beach waves to get messed up. I didn't care. I ran when I thought I heard footsteps on the pavement behind me. I turned to see Taylor. My dad wasn't home yet. He must still be at work. He works multiple jobs so we can have enough money to keep our house. I worked one job, at 76 (It's a gas station.) I was a cashier. It wasn't a lot of money, but it was still money, and I could buy my own school supplies, and clothes and stuff. Making life a lot easier.

I went upstairs, stripped, and hopped in the shower. I scrubbed my face and my hair, trying to get rid of all of the makeup and hair spray. I got changed into a tie-dyed hoodie and black yoga pants. I brushed my hair, put it into a side pony tail, scrolling through Instagram for about an hour looking at all the Christmas posts, then finally decided to go to bed. I kept replaying the night in my mind before I finally drifted into a deep slumber.

Song for this chapter:

I remember the day you told me you were leaving

I remember the makeup running down your face

And the dream you left behind you didn't need them

Like every single wish we ever made

I wish that I could wake up with amnesia

And forget about the stupid little things
