𝐞𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮 ✦ 𝐡𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐮𝐧

「one」

"I'm gonna die today, I'm late, I'm late, I'm late"  I chanted as I rushed out of the school building. It usually took me approximately 30 minutes to reach my workplace--Kaito's--and if I wasn't wrong, I was running about 17 minutes too late to reach that mother fucking store on time.

 I mentally groaned & cursed my oh-so-lovely homeroom teacher--Mrs. Peters who always marks our attendance after the goddamn bell goes off.

"Excuse me! Side please!" I yelled as I buzzed through the crowd of dumb students chatting outside the building in the campus.

"Move!" I pushed through a group of two extremely slow girls, deliberately pushing them a little.

"Wha-"

"Sorry!" I threw an extremely fake apology their way,  with menacing eyes that made them visibly gulp and whisper--probably about how crazy I looked but I paid them no mind and kept rushing ahead.

It's too late for me to take the subway to reach there on time now, I thought to myself and hailed a taxi (there goes my saving's for the month).

I don't know what made me think that taking the taxi would be a preferable option because after that I was stuck in packed jam that had broken out on that road due to all the drivers that had come to pick the rich kids up.

"Oh my God!" I cried out loud, scaring the driver.

"It's not my fault ma'am, even you can see how packed it is right now." The cab driver said & I whispered a 'sorry' since it wasn't the poor driver's fault.

It took me FIFTY minutes to reach Kaito's and I knew my boss Jenelle is gonna eat my ear off today, lecturing me about punctuality and what not.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" I chanted as I ran towards the staff room and switched out of my school uniform.

"This is becoming a habit, Mia." My boss, Jenelle said.

"No, Jenelle! I promise! It's just my teacher makes me late!" I panted as I multitasked and folded my uniform away.

"See, this is the reason why you shouldn't hire High Schoolers, boss" I heard a voice from Jenelle's side, a very annoying voice.

"Y-you!" I tried to swat the annoying person but Jenelle held me back.

"Oh hush, Renjun, you yourself were one until this year!" Jenelle scolded him and he poked his tongue out at the puffy faced woman.

"Now come on you two, Stella is alone out there-- it's Charlie's off today."

As Jenelle left, I huffed and turned around, not wanting to see Renjun's annoying smirk or his ugly face.

"Aren't you even gonna say 'hello' to me, Mia?" Renjun fake-cooed to annoy me and I rolled my eyes--I can't stand the sight of this guy.

"Stop talking to me, go and do your work" I grumbled as I zipped my bag up and tried to tie my Kaito's apron--my work uniform. I tried to fix my messed up, dirty hair by tying it in a pony and looked up to see Renjun still standing there with his arms crossed.

"Huh? Why are you still here," I asked him and made my way out of the staff quarters before Jenelle comes back and scolds us again.

"Did you get late again because of that teacher?" Renjun asked, as he walked behind me.

"Yes, and how do you even know about that teacher? I never told you that." I looked at him with suspicious eyes, wondering whether this guy would go as far as to stalk me.

"Stop looking at me like that, you yourself told me!"

"I told you? Huh, when?"
"HUH?! Don't you remember? That day when you were talking to Charlie and Stella during break! We all went out for break together!"

"Oh right! Heh, sorry, I keep forgetting about your existence" I replied a bit sheepishly and he rolled his eyes.

"Anyway, why don't you just tell that teacher that she needs to mark the attendance earlier cause you get late because of that?"

"Yes, I plan to do that the next time I see her."

"Mia! Take over the section besides Renjun today," Jenelle yelled and I groaned while Renjun laughed evilly.

"This is so unfair!" I cried (while Renjun still evilly laughed in the background)

"It's your punishment for being late!"

I turned around and glared at Renjun who  stopped laughing but poked his tongue out while still smiling.

"I don't know what is oh-so amusing about this situation to you" I rolled my eyes and made my way to my assigned section — the soft toys section.

In this section I basically had to do the following four things:
• Photobomb in the pictures of poor girls who just try to click pictures in front of the toys.
• Be kind and nice to the crying kids and their parents.
• Ignore Huang Renjun and his bullshit.
• Don't let my real evil self shine through.

I fixed some stray toys that weren't in the right position and made them sit straight up.

"Hello, welcome to Kaito's, how can I help you?" I overheard Renjun speaking to two girls on my side who were busy fawning our his looks rather than asking him for help.

"O-oh do you have any peter pan toy here?" One of the girls asked

"Peter pan? I'll have to check that, Mia, is there any Disney collection left?" Renjun suddenly turned towards me and spoke while giving me a secret smile.

"No, that collection was discontinued in July this year," I replied with a fake apologetic smile and the girls pouted.

"You're so annoying," Renjun laughed and went to the front to attend a middle aged lady that looked confused.
