Sandman x Listener Reader

Don't wanna be cliché but.... complete silence, that's where this story starts. It was just Sandy and me sitting high above the city on one of his sand clouds. Far away from any sounds or distractions. It's so nice up here......  oh yeah, Sandy! He's been ranting to me for a while. You know, being the only sensible guardian does take it's tolls on a guys mental health. We often do this, it's nice for him to get to really talk sometimes and I like listening to him. As well as I can anyways. Honestly I think I'm one of the only people who can catch up with his fast images, and I don't wanna gloat but.... heheheheheheheheheh...
Right now what he was frustrated about was Jack and Bunny. There was an incident today where -basically- Jack angered Bunny, and Bunny hid his staff for a while. North had to step in and start acting like a dad, telling the two of them to go to different sides of the room, apparently it was very exhausting.
I promise I was listening to Sandy, hanging onto his every word...... buuuuuuuut I guess I might have started staring off into space. I dunno, it happens sometimes. I didn't even notice how Sandy stopped talking.
I started thinking about him, my best friend for such a long time. I remembered when we met, him doing his nightly rounds, me, experiencing my nightly night terror. It's funny, you'd expect me to be even more terrified by a short man made of sand entering my room in the dead of night, but no. I guess I just found him... calming. After that night the terrors just... stopped, I guess you could say that he was my guardian angel. Then one night I caught him again, and the rest, you could say, is history. Just remembering wonderful times with him brought a smile to my face.
That one Christmas where he face planted into the snow, and I did not cause it... noooooooo... I would never... And the time he confessed to me who he really was and what he did every day. I must admit, I kinda already knew. I mean come on, the guy has magic sand powers for Pete's sake! All it took was a simple check on the internet and I knew. Without hesitation after him telling me I brought him into a hug, I was happy he thought he could trust me with this.
I also remembered all the nights we've spent talking. Well, more him talking me listening, but I love it this way. I just love being with him. He makes me feel... warm. Wait a minute. Hah. I took a moment to recheck my Feelings while with him. Do I... love.... Sandy?
He makes me happy. I love being with him. My heart raced just thinking about it and I felt my face heating up. I went into a sort of super-analysis mode, really delving into my feelings. And when I really checked it, I noticed my feelings for him for the first time. Wow. This is something. Sandy.... sandy.... SANDY!
My eyes and mind snapped back into focus and I jumped and turned my head to look at the guardian. What I found was not what I was expecting. There sat Sandy, resting his head on his hands, staring at me with a dreamy look on his face.
Oh. Did I mention the hearts floating around his head?
He quickly startled and swatted the hearts away with a deep blush on his face. Oh my.
"Ahem.." I started, "I should probably.. go home now and sleep so... yeah.."
He immediately nodded his head really fast, still looking quite flustered, and I felt the cloud start to move over to my house.
After arriving and climbing through my already open window I went over and got in bed, I was totally already in my pyjamas, Heck Yeah!
Sandy came over to sprinkle some sand on me.
"Nighty night Sandy" I say softly, with a yawn.
"Good night (name)" He signalled back.
He then sprinkled his sand and almost immediately started feeling very relaxed and tired. I closed my eyes and rolled over with another yawn, expecting Sandy to have left. Then, right before I drifted off I felt a light kiss placed on my temple. A smile came to my face.

I've also been getting back into anime lately so that list will be expanding lol.
