Blast Off!

Antonio's POV.

"This is crazy."

"Hey, they managed to find a way around faster than light travel and I'm guessing that hole in the sky is pretty obviously where they're about to attack from. If we can join up there or sneak by, we can work it out." Somehow, the fact that we were about to fly the first ever rocket was played down by Alexis.

"Have you done this before?"

"This? Oh no. I have never done this before but-Don't worry. We won't die. I think."

"Real funny." My legs were jittery as I fidgeted with my fingers,"Thanks for the moral support."

"Hey," Alexis pecked my cheek,"It'll be fine. You trust me, don't you?"

As much as I hated to say it right now, I did.

I'd be long dead were it not for her.

That kiss was also always a welcomed way to calm me down.

I sucked in a deep breath, fixating my gaze at the rift tearing apart the sky.

Calm down you coward, even Al isn't worried.

I nodded as Al got into the jet.

"Are you sure you got the right rocket and not just a normal jet?"

Alexis grinned sneakily,"You'll see."

Oh boy.

The hairs on my body stood up, as if sensitive to some kind of power rapidly building up.

[We will launch in 3 minutes 45 seconds.]

There was a humming sound, the kind you'd hear when a plane was about to takeoff from the ground.

"Ready to be the first two people to make it to space?"

"As I'll ever be. Can't be worse than an obvliate, can it?"

"Depends."

"What?"

"Are you do you get sick when taking a plane?"

"No."

"Think of it as a very turbulent plane that feels like it's about to crash."

[Launching in 5 seconds.]

It took me awhile to understand and digest what she'd just uttered and when I did-

"Wait what do you-MEEEEAAAAN!"

[Launching. Please remain in your seats to avoid serious injuries.]

The jet took off , careening into the rift at breakneck speed that the surroundings turned into a series of quick blurs.

I felt adrenaline rush through me as I pushed roughly into my seat, my breathing quickening as I gripped the armrests, tensing up.

"Wooo! Man, I missed this feeling!" Alexis giggled almost like a little kid, a hint of nostalgia in her voice as we catapulted into the rift in an instant and shot through the galaxy as we knew it,"How is it, A?"

I was white as a sheet, unable to talk, think or move, my mind and body screaming at me to run away to somewhere.

I wasn't a wuss but I swear I damn nearly pissed my pants.
