God, this suit was hot. Maybe because it was 100 degrees outside, or maybe because my nerves were everywhere. I walked around looking at everything, I didn't understand these things. Why do so many people have to show up and watch these things? I knew I would be nervous, but this is stupid.
I was pacing back and forward watching everyone come in, they were all dressed in her favorite colors. Mint, coral and blush. She had been planning this day forever, I should know, she has told me all about it.
I remember sitting on the roof of an old motel with her one night, watching all the stars and listening to the cars pass by. "Dean, have you ever thought about getting married?" I laugh at her. "Ah no I can't say I have. Why, have you?" She rolls her eyes, "Of course I have, I have it all planned out. I want it perfect." I turned to her, watching her as the light in her eyes shinned. "Well, tell me about it." She takes a deep breath, "It has to be out in the country, I want an outside wedding with fresh flowers and spring time air. Everyone wearing the wedding colors, I want my granddad doing the service because he's a preacher and all. I want everyone there." I watch the sky, smiling as she told me everything. "Okay then what should I wear?" She glances over at me laughing, "Hmm, well I think you would be very handsome in a suit, something dark, it will bring out your eyes and your freckles. You would make a handsome groom." I roll my eyes and almost blush at the way she talked about me. I glance over at her, she was beautiful the way the moonlight was shining on her face. I wanted to kiss her so bad, I knew it would be the perfect time. She looked over my way and caught me watching her, "What are you staring at Winchester?" I let my eyes glance down to her lips, watching the smile on them grow, then back to her eyes. The look she was giving me showed she knew exactly what I was thinking about. She leaned in closer to me, letting the space get smaller. My heart was beating out of my chest, I felt light headed. Right when I felt her breath be close enough to hit my skin, I heard from down below. "Dean! Where the hell are you?" I sit back, "Damnit, dad." She laughs "Duty calls." With that we both made our way off the roof, back to work.
I take a deep breath, the memory made me feel light headed just thinking about it again. She is perfect, she always has been. I knew back then she wanted to get married, I just couldn't believe it was happening now.
My phone starts to ring, I make a note to mute it before we walk out. That would be awkward and she would probably kill me. "Yeah?" Sam says on the other end, "Hey, where are you?" I look around. "Around back, just chilling out." Sam huffs, "Okay, well do you need anything?" I think for a moment "No man I'm fine, you good?" "Yeah Dean I'm good, just checking on you. Think you'll be able to make it through without crying?" I roll my eyes "Yes Sammy I'll be fine, I will talk to you soon little brother." With that I hang up sticking the phone back in my pocket. I tug on my black tie, when does this thing start again?
I reach into my other pocket, pulling out my flask. I turn it up quickly letting the whiskey burn down my throat. I turn as I screw the top back on and see her dad, that man always scared the hell out of me. I never felt like he liked me, now though I know he does. After that talk a few months back with him we have been great. I knew he was dreading this day, he didn't want to give her away and I could understand that. He sees me and smiles, walking over with me. "Dean, how are you doing son?" He pats me on the shoulder. "I'm good sir, kind of nervous. How is she coming along?" He smiles, "She is taking her time, about to come out of her heels from shaking so bad. She's asked me the same thing about you." I raise my eyebrow "Oh really? Well she shouldn't be worried about me." He nods, looking over at the people walking around out front. "I wish your dad could have been here to see this. I doubt he would have come, but you never knew with that man." I laugh, running my hand down my face trying to get the sweat off. "Yeah, me too sir. Me too." He looks down at his watch. "Welp, it's almost time. Guess I need to get ready to bring her out. And you, need to get out there yourself, I imagine she's notice if you're gone." I laugh. "Yes sir."
