~Children of the Damned ~ Part Two ~
Ronnie's POV
"My father never approved of anyone I dated, which only made me want them even more. Of course." Damon looked up from the tomato he was cutting, giving Jenna a smirk. "What about you?"
I wasn't sure how Damon had convinced Jenna to let us into her home, but I didn't bother to question it. Damon was currently standing at the island counter in the kitchen while Jenna and I sat on the counter across from him.
I watched the vampire prepared dinner, my legs swaying back and forth as they hung off the side. I didn't know how to cook, so I was pretty useless and I think Jenna just enjoyed the view. From her spot on the counter, sipping red wine, she responded to the vampire's question.
"There were a few guys. Logan isn't the only loser I've dated." Jenna added a smile to her statement.
Damon stopped cutting the tomatoes for a second, putting a thoughtful look on his face. "They ever find him? Or is he still missing?" I couldn't help but roll my eyes at that.
"He's not missing. He's in the Bahamas working on his tan. Very entitled, that one. Marches to his own drum." She brought her wine glass up to her lips, downing the rest of her drink. "He's a Fell. They're all snooty." She said as Damon walked over to her with a wine bottle in hand. He let out a small laugh as he refilled her glass, giving her a smirk.
"You know, to me, he seems very egotistical." I added in, speaking for the first time since Damon had started cooking. I then pretended to let out a fake gasp, my eyes fell to Damon, who was standing right in front of me. "You two would be perfect for each other."
He gave me one of those smirks that screamed I hate you. I just gave him an innocent smile, watching as he went back to the island. "Hello, Elena." He then said, keeping his eyes on the counter. My brows furrowed as both me and Jenna looked behind us, seeing Elena stepping through the door.
"Hey. Where have you been?" Jenna asked while Elena walked into the kitchen, a very confused look on her face. "We're cooking dinner."
"Correction. He's cooking dinner, we're sitting on our asses watching him cook dinner." I pointed out, giving Elena a smile she did not return. Ouch. That almost hurt my feelings.
"Is Stefan with you?" Damon asked, going back to chopping up vegetables.
"Um, he'll be here soon." Elena said, resting her palm on the counter I was sitting on, her other hand on her hip. They made eye contact, Damon smirking and Elena giving him a look.
Trying to break the tension, I jokingly said, "It's not a party without the Salvatore brothers, am I right?" It didn't work.
About twenty minutes had gone by and Stefan had still not shown up. Jenna was now somewhere in the house, Jeremy was playing video games in the living room, and I was in the kitchen, helping Elena set the table. I grabbed a few plates, headed towards the table, crossing paths with Damon, who intentionally bumped into me to get on my nerves. "Remember what I said about personal space?" I asked, turning to look at him. He didn't stop walking like I did, he carried on walking to the stove while I stood a couple of feet behind him.
He had a smirk on his face, as usual. "Remember when I said I don't care?"
"Actually, you didn't say that."
"No, I think I did."
"I have a photographic memory. You didn't say that."
"You do not have a photographic memory."
