I was working in my office when I heard the footsteps that I knew would ruin my day. Then I heard the knocks.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Slow and painful. Great.

"Enter and speak." I commanded to Lieutenant Min.

"Good Morning, Sergeant Manoban. How's the search for Jennie Kim? Have you tracked her down yet?" His low voice boomed throughout the room.
"No, Lieutenant. I haven't been able to find her but I'm close. I can feel it. I have a question though." This is gonna be painful.
"I have an answer then."
"If Jennie Kim were to be caught and someone paid for her freedom would she be able to leave? How much would it cost?"

His eyes widened at my questions. He looked calm but triggered.

"It could happen but it'd be about four hundred grand for that delinquent."
"Thank you, Lieutenant." I thanked as I got up to bow to him.

He bowed and left.

Shit. I have to tell Jennie. I pull out my phone and dial her number.

"Hello?" A groggy voice answered.
"Did you just wake up?"
"Yah. I live in the night. This is my only sleep time. What do you want, Manoban?"
"My lieutenant asked if I've found you yet. I obviously said no. I asked about how much it'd cost and it's not cheap but I can pay it for you. I'll send the money in anonymously as planned and it'll be after you're arrested." The words nonchalantly spill from my lips.

Sigh.

"What's wrong?"
"Don't pay it."
"W-what? Jen, I'm gonna pay it. You can't change my mind. I'm not letting you rot in jail because of this. Just stop stealing once I pay it. Okay?"
"Lalisa, listen. I'm sorry but this is ridiculous. Why don't you want me to-"

There was yelling from the other line.

"You bitch! How dare you kiss-" slaps and more yelling.

The line cuts off.

I hurry to my car and I already know where she is. That damn new hideout. That voice sounded like Kim Jisoo. Did Jennie do something? Oh fuck. Who'd she kiss?

Jennie

I was on the phone with Lisa and then I heard the door open and footsteps speeding towards me.

I looked at her confused but she just looked so pissed off. Fuck. Did she find out about Chaeng and I kissing?

I admit it was a mistake. I shouldn't have done that but she didn't stop me.

Jisoo didn't say anything before she jumped on me. I was yelling as she pulled my hair and hit me with balled fists.

"You bitch! How dare you kiss her?! Are you asking to die?! She's fucking mine, Kim!"
Anger. That's all I see. Guilt is all I feel. I deserve this.

She grabbed my head and made me look her in the eye.

"When was I going to hear of this?" She questioned. Her voice low and calm but obviously still angry.

"I didn't plan on saying anything." I smiled weakly but kept my eyes closed. She threw me by my hair to the ground. She crawled on top of me and sat there before she was inches away from my bruised face.

I could feel her breath. Her lips slowly began to get closer. Instinctively I closed my eyes and felt her lips on mine. A few minutes passed. It was slow, gently even. She pulled away and whispered huskily.

"That was for Chaeyoung. Those lips are mine. Don't touch them again."

She left. I heard the door open again though. Now I'm guessing Chaeng is gonna kill me too. At the time she enjoyed it but I guess it was just at the time. I can't believe she told Jisoo though. Shit.

"Jennie? Are you okay?" A panicked voice that I recognized all too quickly.

"I'm fine, Lisa. Just go back to-"
"Work? No. I'm staying with you. I'll clean your wounds." She's so stubborn.

I sigh and lay on the ground. Eyes closed. My aching body trying to endure the pain that I felt because of my beating. I felt a tear roll down my warm cheek.

More soon followed and I ended up sobbing. Again. In front of Lisa. God, I'm losing my edge.

I felt warm arms wrap around me and pulling me close. I felt fingers running through my hair. I heard steady breathing and a calm heartbeat. And then my eyes drifted closed. I've fallen into a sleep that I knew I'd have to eventually wake up from.
