Brooklyn's POV
I laid there in the hospital. I was hooked up to a few different tubs and some other things. It was late at night and I was the only one up.
Katie was sleeping on the bay window and using her sweater as a blanket. My parents were talking with the doctors and Nick was trying to keep my mind off by showing me some card tricks he learned five minutes ago. But I wasn't paying attention.
I was too lost in thought about this whole surgery thing.
"C'mon Brooklyn, work with me here," Nick said making me pop out of my thoughts.
"What if I can never dance again," I said sadly. I was having some muscle problems in my legs and..there was a chance that I might never dance again. I was scared that the one thing I'm good at will be gone forever.
Nick only stared at me blankly before saying, "Don't say that. There's only a small chance of that happening."
"But, dance is my life. Hell-"
"Brooklyn."
"it's the only thing I'm good at," I said while ignoring the fact I just swore. "I'm mean, Katie is the goofy big sister. You're about to make your Broadway debut. In fact you should 've been at rehearsal, not here, stuck in a hospital."
"I'd rather be stuck in a hospital, then running a show that's gonna happen eight times a week," he replied.
I ignored what Nick said before saying "Dance is my whole life. It's the only thing I'm good at. Without dance, I'm just a bit old nothing."
"Brooklyn," Nick sighed as he walked up to the bed and laid down next to me. He pulled me into his arms and said, "You're not a nothing. You're an amazing, talented, and beautiful, girl. Who's proved one odd after the other."

I took a deep breath as I shot up from the bed. I looked around and saw I was in the hotel room. And right next to my bed was a sleeping and snoring Nicholas. I fell back onto the bed. Which of course woke Nick up.
"Brooklyn, you ok?" he asked sleepily.
"What am I without dance?" I asked without thinking very much.
"A smart, funny, talented, and beautiful girl," Nick replied. The next thing I know was that he was lying next to me with his arms wrapped around me. "Stop worrying about the past. You're a strong girl Brooky, remember that." I nodded before feeling him pull me closer. This has happened many times before. But, I still feared something might happen one day and I would never be able to dance again.
"Brooklyn, stop worrying about something that didn't even happen," Nick said. How he knew what I was thinking was beyond "You're a strong girl whos proved the odds one after the other." I only nodded before snuggling a bit closer and drift off to sleep.
Nick's POV
I woke up before Brooklyn did. She looked so peaceful when she's asleep and not yelling my ear off. But I love you anyways. What can I say, she's my twin. The moment was shorted lived because Brook woke up after a few moments.
"Morning sleepy head," I said.
"Shut up, it's too early to hear your annoying voice." Brook replied before grabbing a pillow and slamming it over her head. And there's the Brooklyn I know.
"Whatever," I replied before getting up. "C'mon sis, get your lazy bum out of bed."
"I don't wanna." here we go again.
