A week passed since mines' and Jakes' almost date. It was a weird week never the less and that might be because (a) Jake started acting all weird himself, (b) I was feeling less comfortable when I was near him meaning that the butterflies in my stomach would go ten times crazier than before and my hands would go sweaty making me always weeping them on my pants and (c) it was obvious that the whole thing didn't matter at all since it hadn't been brought up not even once after the day it happened.

Yep. The situation was that tide bit dramatic.

Anyway and even though we were clearly uncomfortable after that 'thing' happened, which by the way was nothing more than a friends night out as he called it more that once, we hanged out more after that night.

Our table was now including every single one bad boy of our schools' gang and also attracted attention from most of the tables that were inside our cafeteria. Of course there were those who clearly didn't gave a damn about me, my friends and the bad boys hanging around but people like the cheerleaders were all but literally killing us with their stares.

And that's what ladies and gentlemen brings us to what happened next. My run in with Ashley Valentine, yep her name was actually that much of a cliché, aka the head cheerleader and queen B as I like calling her, of our school.

I was in my usual need of using the restroom when I saw her coming near me. At first I considered the action to be just a coincidence since we have never talked before in our entirely school life. Soon though and once I saw her frowning her eyebrows towards my direction, when nobody else was around, I realized that she was coming for me.

My first thought was that she wanted me to do some of her homework or help her with a school subject since I have tutored a lot of jokes in the past due to their friendship with Aaron.

However I for once more found myself mistaken, when she came into a stop next to me, opened the bathroom door and ordered me inside.

"So you are the nerd that got the bad boy running, aren't you?" she asked giving me a head to toe glance

"I don't know what your talking about." I said trying to get if the hook. Plus it's not like I have him running.

"Oh please. You know exactly what I'm talking about."

"Look you're clearly mistaken. Me and Jake have nothing going on. We're ju-"

"But you sure as hell want to. And even if you don't he clearly does. Listen here skunk I don't know if he fancies you or if he just wants to bang you but listen to me and listen to me well. I'm not trying to get him over the past year just so an innocent girly nerd like you come around and making him chase you around. I don't care if you like him or if you're just friends but stay the hell away from him or else there are going to be conciseness. Got it?" And that's when I realized that she was mentally retarded. Of course I didn't say that to her. I went for something like

"Listen you don't understand we're working together at this project and that's how we started hanging out. You clearly misjudged the whole thing and-"

"I see. You have the perfect plan. You manage to get Jake for yourself and at the same time hook up his best friend with yours. I clearly misjudged something but that wasn't your relationship it was you yourself. However my threat still stands. Stay away because you don't want me after you. Lets go girls." she called out to her minions and walked out leaving me with my mouth hanging inside the schools toilets.

I was screwed..

Forgetting about how I needed the loo I rushed out of the toilets and started looking around for April.

However and as it seems my friend was occupied with her boyfriend making out behind a tree. That was the moment I started wondering in what kind of world do friends abandon their best friends in order to make out, but soon my thoughts vanished since I considered that April didn't know yet about my run in with Ashley ten minutes ago. And as I was seeing it she wasn't going to find out any time soon.

So I packed my things literally and turned around prepared to suffer alone in my misery.

Why on earth had Ashley such a problem with me hanging around with Jake. It wasn't like he liked me or anything. Yes I may like him but I'm not considered to be a threat on her and her minions. Comparing us we see that (a) they are pretty and athletic with bodies to die for, most of them at least (b) they have tons of guys going after them (c) they are obviously much more experienced in every boy department than I am and (d) most of them have a mad fashion style due to their parents' money. Instead I am a plain old girl, with cool hair and maybe a flat but not athletic stomach, and finally with lack of knowledge in the boy department due to my lack on boyfriends.

So what exactly is she worried about? Because if you ask me she has nothing at all to be worried. It's like comparing pizza with broccoli, a rose with a cactus, a unicorn with a donkey.

"You seem lost in there." I heard from behind. Great I only needed him right now.

"Nope I'm just fine over here thanks." I shouted over my shoulder not even turning around

"You know there's no need in shouting right? Plus it must give people the wrong idea and I'm not even laying a hand on you at the moment." he said and I could just hear the smirk in his voice. Bastard.

"What do you need Drew?" I said finally turning around

"Well I overheard that someone had a quite unpleasant meeting with a head cheerleader in the girls bathroom this morning."

"Oh really? I didn't hear anything so you might as well ask someone else."

"Yeah and I'm a unicorn with a rainbow tattoo on my butt. Seriously Rach I know what's going on and I'm not that bad you can talk to me if you want. And seeing how both your girl friends seem to be occupied at the moment I think having a heart to heart chit chat over here would help." he said this time seriously

"Okay and that's only happening because I have no one else to talk to." I sighed

"Come on talk to doctor Phill." he said and made himself comfortable on a near by bench patting the space next to him for me to take a seat.

"So what's up girly?" he asked

"Well I'm pretty sure you know the answer to that question.." I trailed of

"Well not exactly but I have to admit that I may have an idea about it.."

"Mind sharing?"

"Bitch girl approached you and asked you to stay away from us and um Jake in particular?"

"Ding Ding ding we have a winner!"

"Haha okay focus now please."

"Right okay yeah pretty much that's what happened. I of course told her that there is nothing going on but she didn't believe me." I explained further

"Oh and I wonder why." he said sarcastically

"Drop the sarcasm it's the truth and you know it." I said then hopping to earn some more info in the subject

"Whatever helps you sleep at night. But listen here and listen well when I'm saying that you don't need to worry about Ashley or her minors from now on. Plus Jake wouldn't let her do anything to you, either on friendly or non friendly terms."

"Thanks for the pep talking Drew it really helped me." not

"Hey you also have me watching your back so yeah."

"You're getting soft there bad boy watch it."

"Well everything for my mates girl."

"I'm not his girl Drew and again you know it."

"Correction you're not his girl yet. Anyways see you around girly." And he was gone.
