This is just a trial story to see how you guys like them!!
——————————————————————————What was it that brought them together, to be united in this perfect love?
One fateful day, Sarah had found her near deaths door, and in a striking display of bravery, saved her from herself. From then on, she cared about her in every fiber of her being, but melody switched from warmth to coldness in a flash, struggling with her inner anguish. But she was there for her no matter how many times she tried to push her away. That how it was to this very day.
Yes. She often reflected upon this day with fondness. It was a day that had changed her life, after all.
Sarah, a seraphic lady in the full bloom of youth, stood alone on the beach, gazing over the teal water with her blameless forest-green windows to her soul. Her copper hair danced lightly in the ocean breeze, ticking against her cheek as she smiled to herself with anticipation as she discreetly patted her sheathed dagger. She wore an inky sleeveless dress that showed off her sorrel shoulders and legs. Her bronze coiffure brushed against her shoulders, complementing her pure tawny visage. An elaborate tattoo snaked it's way around her visible skin. A prominent scar stood out on her toast-colored skin. A noticeable sigil provided proof of her decent, beautiful wings sprouted from her back. For a moment, she absorbed herself in these thoughts, of her, and Melody.
Sarah's chartreuse globes spotted Melody further down on the beach, closer to the roaring sea. Her lovely kiwi-colored strands were attractive as ever. Her depths were turned towards the ocean, hidden from Sarah's sight , but she knew and loved their despairing heterochromatic hue. She was dressed in her own unique fashion, a style unlike that of anyone else Sarah knew. She had a toned but slender body covered with tawny skin. Furry ears flicked at the top of her head, and she twitched her forest-green tail. Beautiful wings were folded against her back. As Sarah drew nearer, she caught a note of Melody's familiar scent of lingering iron and steel. She smiled to herself. It always reminded her of the time they shared. "mel," she called, walking towards her.
She glanced back at Sarah before again returning her multihued gaze to the water. "Sarah," she whispered.
"It's good to see you again," Sarah said, touching her lightly on one shoulder. "Have I kept you waiting?" Melody simply shrugged. They began their leisurely walk along the ocean's edge.
Melody's mind was flooded by painful thoughts. She clung tightly to Sarah's hand as if it could save Melody. She was without a father! Sarah, strong as she was, wouldn't possibly be willing to bear her burdens.
"What is it, Melody?" Sarah suddenly asked.
"N-nothing," Melody whispered. "Why do you ask...?"
"You've got my hand in a death grip." Melody let her head droop and let go. She was always causing Sarah trouble.... "I don't mean it like that. I mean if something's bothering you, you should tell me."
"No... Sarah, I couldn't..."
Sarah looked at Melody long and hard. Sarah was struggling to understand what it was that plagued Melody, but to Melody, it seemed like she was glaring at her.
"I-I'm sorry, I'm always so..."
"Always so... what?"
"..."
Sarah scratched her head and looked out over the sea. "You'll tell me when you're ready, won't you?"
Melody gave the faintest of nods. But of course she could not imagine ever feeling ready to tell her her secrets. In truth, Melody hardly even deserved her. Melody was ...
Melody was unworthy of her time. The very thought of that brought tears to her eyes, and she looked away from Sarah to hide them. But she couldn't hide the sobs that shook her.
"Melody." Melody rubbed the tears from her eyes. "Melody, look, you need to tell me. You're so upset..."
"It's... I'm..." Melody's shoulders shook, and she buried her face in her hands. "Forget it! Let's just..."
Sarah put an assuring arm around Melody's shoulders and brought her toward herself. "Hey... hey. It's all right... I'm here. I'm here."
After a few moments, they found themselves walking down the beach again. It seemed to Sarah that something had been bothering Melody for the last few hours -- or maybe longer than that .Melody's wretched opaline spheres were cast down and away, focused upon nothing in particular.
It really hurt Sarah inside to see her like that. Sarah reached for Melody, tucked a stray very strand behind Melody's ear, and traced a finger across her jawline. "What's wrong, Melody?"
