I woke up in my tent, the last thing that I remember last night was staying up until the sun came up talking to Daryl. I walk out of my tent to go look for my mom, I have got to talk to her about what happen.

"Hey" she said with a surprised look "It's about time that you decide to join the rest of us, I heard that you had a late night" she said as she winked at me.

"Don't do that" I said as I playfully shoved her "Me and Daryl stayed up talking"

"Oh god, you better be careful with him, that's a wild one" she said

"I know" I said as a memory of him flashed in my mind "That's what makes him so interesting, but anyways, how's Andrea?"

"She's still there with Amy, poor girl, she's going to wake up any minute now, your dad is up there helping bury the bodies and jim is still diggin away"

"Is Daryl up there too?"

"Ohhh why you so worried about where he is? Did something happen between you two last night??"

"No mom, I was just curious, I can't wonder about anything?"

"Lori!" Carol said walking down the hill, It looked like she was in a panick "I have to talk to you asap"

"What's going on?"

"It's Jim, I think that he's bit"

**********

"Jim Jim Jim! Shane said, calm down, what's wrong?" Shane said

"This... This is what I had my dream about" he said "This is why I was digging, I knew that it was coming"

Everyone looked at each other because we all knew that something was wrong. My dad grabbed Jim from behind holding his arms "SHANE!" he yelled.

Shane ran over and lifted up his shirt and revealed a huge bite mark on his side.

My dad dropped him and everyone backed up, it was true, he had been bitten. He put everyone of us in danger by not telling us. What was we going to do? We couldn't just kill him.

"There's a CDC not to far from here, we have to load everything up and go" my dad said

"What about fort Benning?" Shane asked "They have to know something we would be so much safer at a military base than at a CDC"

"We go to the CDC and see if they're working on a cure, we have to give it a try, its closer than Fort Benning and if the CDC is a no then that is where we'll go"

It was a plan, we were going to fort Benning but while everyone was loading everything up Jim stayed in the RV, we gave him water and made him as comfortable as possible, some part of me hoped that they had found a cure because overall he was a good person but the other part knew that if he didn't get saved from all of this then he wouldn't be in a world full of pain and suffering anymore, he could just be peaceful.

Right before we was about to leave Morales said that him and his family wasn't going, that they had family somewhere up in Birmingham and wanted to be with them. My dad gave them a gun and a half full box of ammo.

"Thank you all" His wife said as my mom hugged her. Everyone said their goodbyes and parted ways.

"What makes you think that our odds are any better" Shane asked my dad "Come on, lets move it!" He said.

We all piled in the vehicles and we was on our way. My mom, Dad, Carl, Sophia and I in a little beat up car. 'Here Goes Nothing'  I thought to myself.

********

It wasn't long before we had stopped because of the RV, "I told you we wouldn't get far on that hose" Dale said to my dad as smoke steamed out of the front of it.
