This is the story of what led to Warren's capture. He tells Claude, Lennie, and Jeff the way he remembers it.

It is Monday and after class Colleen goes by Warren at his desk.

Warren: Hey Colleen, what can I do for you?

Colleen: Do, you think I'm pretty? Pretty enough to be a model?

Warren: If you work hard enough and stay in school you can be whatever you want. Is that what you want to be when you are older?

Colleen: I don't know. I was talking to Mr.Williams and he said I should be one.

Warren: Oh. . .

Colleen: Do I look older to you? Like, around twelve or thirteen?

Warren: I'd say you look about nine, possibly ten.

Colleen: Oh.

Warren can see Colleen is hurt by his answer.

Colleen: Well Mr.Williams says I look thirteen.

Warren is confused as to why John would say this to Colleen.

Warren: When did he tell you this? And what made him bring this up?

Colleen: We were just talking, and then he started saying how pretty I was heh heh. And then he said I looked like I was thirteen, and that I should be a model.

Warren: Colleen are you sure Mr.Williams said this to you?

Colleen: Yeah. I just wanted to see if you thought I should be a model too. I guess I was wrong.

Warren: Colleen it's just, right now you should be focused on school.

Colleen: It's fine. I have to go before I miss my bus. Bye.

Warren: Goodbye. Have a good day.

Colleen leaves, and Warren tries to figure out why John would tell Colleen those things. He then decides the best thing to do is to confront John about this himself. Warren looks for John, but sees he has already left his office. Warren spends the night at April's house, after bringing a couple of boxes with his belongings there. The next morning as Warren and April get ready for school, she can sense something is different about him.

April: Babe.

Warren: Yeah?

April: Is everything alright?

Warren: Yeah, sure. Why?

April: You just seem, a bit different. That's all.

Warren: Everything's fine.

Warren and April both drive different cars to school. April goes to her class, and Warren goes back to the entrance to the school.

Some students: Hey Mr.McCoy.

Warren: Hey. How's fifth grade going?

Some students: Ok.

John Williams walks in school, and he immediately smiles at Warren.

John: Hey Warren.

Warren: Hey John.
