The Continuation to it
A/N: Hey guys, this chapter was supposed to be part of chapter six but I found that chapter six was just too long and I personally don't like chapters that are too long, so I cut it into two but like at the same time just made it a chapter on its own since its about different things. So this chapter will be kinda short but some how normal? Anyway hope you enjoy

Ashley's POV

The rest of the day went by better than I had expected—not just for me, but for Chanel too.

Apparently, I came in second during the race, and shockingly, Chanel came in third. Chanel?! OMFG, right? I was just as stunned as anyone else. How could someone so lazy be so fast? It was a tie between her and one of the cheerleaders, and honestly, she only lost by an inch.

The rest of the school day passed in a blur, and before I knew it, it was time to head home.

"Hey, Ashley! Wanna go out for frozen yogurt?" Chanel asked as soon as we stepped outside, heading toward the car park.

Before I could even process the question, she was already tugging me toward her car.

"I don't know, Chanel," I said, pulling my hand free from her grasp. "I don't really feel like getting into a car today." I glanced down at my shoes, my voice softer than before.

The realization hit her instantly.

"Oh, Ashley... I'm so sorry," she murmured, regret evident in her tone. "You had nightmares again, didn't you? Ugh, I'm such a terrible best friend for not thinking before pulling you."

"No, no, it's not that..." I let out a heavy sigh. "It's just—I've had such a great day, and if I get in a car, I might have flashbacks. And... I don't want to ruin it." My voice wavered slightly as I chewed on my bottom lip.

Chanel's expression softened, and she pulled me into a hug.

"It's okay, Ashy," she whispered.

I rolled my eyes at the nickname I despised.

"Thanks, Chanel... I gotta go," I said, pulling away.

"Okay. Love you! Take care!" she called after me before jogging off to her car.

I turned on my heels and made my way home to drop off my bag.

When I walked into the house, i dropped my bag on the couch and walked into the kitchen where I heard mom humming a soft tune

"Hey, i just came to drop off my bag" I said to her once I had a bottled water at hand

"Hi sweetie, you're going already" she asked rhetorically while stirring whatever she was cooking

"I'll be back before dark mom don't worry" I replied then strutted to the door before she'd suggest--

"Ashley, maybe I should drop you off" she said turning the stove off then turned to face me

I sighed then faced her "no mom don't I'll be fine" I smiled reassuringly

"But how come you let Chanel drive you places? " she asked with a pout, at least something resembling a pout

"Mom, I don't know.. I guess she drives at a pace am comfortable with and she kinda drives like me maybe? Plus we never drive around at night" I said all unsurely "besides I don't wanna bother you so much "

"Then take your car there, it can't remain in the garage forever, you know your dad spent so much money on it and he thinks you drive it" she said turning back to the stove
