A week later

Maya's P.O.V.

I was sat in my car, drinking the toffee latte I had bought myself from McDonald's. I was still in my work uniform.

It was pouring outside and I did not want to waste my huda beauty foundation and my tarte shape tape concealer. They were very expensive products that I stupidly decided to put on my face today and I was not going to let it go to waste. I was pretty sure my mascara would smudge too and I honestly couldn't be bothered redoing my make up.

It had been fifteen minutes and the rain hadn't even slowed down, it was still heavy and violent.

I was scrolling through my instagram feed when I saw someone standing outside my car window, a high pitched scream was my automatic response.

A goofy grin was plastered on his face as I screamed my lungs out, his curly hair wet and stuck to his forehead. He was wearing a short sleeved plain black shirt.

What kind of idiot dresses like that in this type of weather?

"What the fuck!" I barked, narrowing my eyes at him.

I pulled my window down a little so that he could hear me.

His boyish laugh annoying me further.

"Damn, second time scaring you. I don't even try," his voice playful, moving his damp hair away from his face.

"What the hell are you doing?" I ignored his comment. The rain was getting even heavier, he was drenched. "Get in" I ordered, opening the car door. He would get even more wet if he walked to the passenger side.

Well he could've got into the back seat but you know. ;)

He shook his head, his dark blue eyes glistening.

I pulled him by the arm. "You'll get sick!" I exclaimed.

"So what," he laughed. "Come on," he gestured for me to join him in the icy cold rain. He was nuts.

"What? I am not getting out of this car," I scoffed. "You might want a flu, but I can assure you, I do not!"

"Stop being such a weakling," he tried pulling me from my arm, his hands were wet.

"You sound crazy," I shook my head in disbelief.

"Come on! You only live once," he had a mischievous look on his face. "Plus, the water feels phenomenal," he said, singing the word 'phenomenal'.

"Nope!" I said, closing the car door. He pushed his face towards the window, sticking out his bottom lip.

"I wanted to race you to McDonald's. It's not that far," he pleaded, my mind slowly changing.

God damn it.

"Fine," I groaned. "Only to McDonald's."

I knew I was going to regret this.

But the smile on his face made it kinda sorta worth it.

"Yes!" he beamed, his blue eyes gleaming.

I rolled my eyes, closing my car door.

The rain was thick and relentless.

"I don't want to ruin my jacket," I told him when I saw him looking at my bare arms.

"Same," he said "Last one stinks?" he wiggled his eyebrows.

"Wait," I said once I saw that he looked ready to run.

"What?" he turned to me, a quizzical expression on his face.

"Nothing," I laughed, getting a head start.
