Lively laughs, and soft giggles filled the infinite void as Eloise and I enjoyed our unusual dinner, lunch-- whatever time it is.
But amidst the joyful atmosphere, I felt as though there was someone else with us. Like eyes hovering over the candlelit table.
"Are you alright?" Eloise asked as she noticed my sudden change of aura.
I shook my head, "Ah, no-- no... I'm-- it's alright, hahah..." My reply was ended with a nervous laugh. That didn't really seal the deal.
My companion looks at where my attention was drawn to. "What's so interesting? It's just another blank space. This whole simulation is just a blank space."
At that moment I thought, 'Huh, good point.'
But then I noticed a word she chose to describe the world we were in.
"Wait... What did you say?"
Eloise looked into my eyes with innocence written all over, "I beg your pardon?"
"You... Said something. Can you repeat it?"
"Um,'What' s so interesting? It's just a blank space. '"
"No, there was... Something after that." I persisted, trying to confirm if what I heard was really true.
She laughs. It almost feels as though she was mocking me.
"You said it was just a--"
"Oh dear! I'm sorry Skye, but I better go. Important business job stuff, you know," She interrupted, standing up from her chair, "I guess I was so caught up in our little dinner setting that I've lost track of time."
"But you said there wasn't a concept of--"
She was gone. Everything was gone.
And I'm all alone in the white void, once again.
