It came fast, Valerie's sudden feeling to kill Jackie. This blonde woman who had made herself at home in Valerie's big house, coffee in hand, chatting about random things. Valerie had chatted back as she didn't want to seem suspicious in any way. Although she was awkward and blunt in her talking to Jackie unlike how she was during business. Jackie had continued to chat, not seeming to be fazed by Valerie's awkward ways. Valerie just felt so out of place in her own home and that woman was the cause of it.
Valerie never got impulses like these. Never had she wanted to randomly kill someone just for chatting with her. But now she was getting those impulses and they seemed to sneak a terrible feeling in her stomach with it. She felt as though she was going to double over and let out a flow of vomit. That feeling was something she never wanted and right now she was quite sure of that.
"Um..I have business to do. Would you like me to show you to the door?" Valerie felt like she was panting out her words as she said them. She was already a little trapped under a sleeping Aurora but an overwhelming feeling of heat came over her whole body. That heat mixed with her churning stomach was the worst feeling she'd ever had in her lifetime of twenty-six years.
"Oh sure," Jackie stood up with her coffee mug still in her hand. Valerie rubbed Aurora and shifted, trying to wake her up. The dog's eyes opened and she sat up which Valerie took as an invitation for her to slip out from under her. She stood to her feet, the feeling still consuming her and making her feel awful. She tried to blink her facial expression away to a soft smile but it was hard. She eventually got it after a deep breath in.
"Would you like more coffee to go? There's a lot more that I won't drink," Valerie offered to the blonde. Jackie looked down at her cup and handed it to Valerie.
"The same if that won't be a problem," Jackie smiled at Valerie. Valerie took the mug from Jackie and walked to the kitchen. She took the coffee the coffee maker had made and poured it into a to go cup she had lying around. She had bought them for business meetings within her home. She placed the rest of the coffee back into the maker and wiped the sweat from her forehead. Something was terribly wrong with her and she didn't know what. Her legs started to fidget in their place as she rubbed her hands on her shorts. She placed the lip onto the cup and then started to make her way into the hall.
Jackie was standing by the door expectantly, playing on her phone. Valerie started to feel as though she was suffocating and she was sweating even worse than before. She closed her eyes and tried to breathe. This wasn't like her anxiety, it was much scarier. It was something that Valerie had even less control over. It was something Valerie had never experienced and didn't know about. Valerie shook her head and walked up to Jackie.
"Hey um.. can I show you something?" Valerie didn't register her own words as she handed Jackie the cup. Jackie examined Valerie and her eyebrows creased with a deep confusion.
"Sure," as soon as the words left the woman's mouth, Valerie was moving down the hall. She could hear Jackie's footsteps behind her and an overwhelming feeling of anger came with the sound. It was a crazy anger that made Valerie's breath uneven. As they turned the corner to a hall with only one door. The one cursed door that Valerie didn't know she was taking Jackie to. Her mind was on autopilot and she couldn't help it. She was gazing through her eyes and feeling these terrible feelings but she couldn't control what her body did.
"You first," Valerie opened the door and motioned Jackie to go in. The stairs leading down into the room were wood and creaked. The room was dark and so were the stairs. Jackie hesitated, looking at Valerie once. Valerie's lips twisted up into a reassuring smile. "I'm showing you something. I'm not going to kill you or anything," and she continued that damn reassuring smile. Valerie knew what she was doing but she didn't stop it. She couldn't stop it.
