Chapter 7

Sierra's P.O.V

The next day I told Dan everything at school and he was very proud of me as he claimed.

Right now I was in Veronica's room. She was reading a book Spence needed to read too. So I suggested she did and she couldn't put it down.

"'To thine own self be true' duh, unless you suck." she said and I gave her a thumbs up.

I told her all about my conversation with Jamey and she was very excited about it all. She claimed to have made our relationship.

Anyways we were lying on her bed taking pictures like we never lost contact at all. We were just like two best friends. Just like it used to be. Before high school.

She took a video of herself with my reading glasses on to put on her instagram.

"The lion king is just Hamlet." she stated in the short video.
"Maybe Spence will see it."

"To be Sierra Burgess..."
"To be or not to be, that is the question. I'll have to teach you that one next."
"I know. I don't get a picture of Dorian Gray. Why does everyone like him if he does bitchy things?"
"It's Oscar Wilde's commentary on society. Basically, since Dorian looks perfect, everybody things he's perfect, and since they all value appearence above anything else, he kind of ends up losing his own soul."

It was 10 p.m and hadn't heard from Jamey all that much so I decided to call him.

He picked up immediatly, as if he was waiting on a call.

"Hey!"
"Hey there. It's me." I said mentally slapping myself for being awkward again.
"You working out? You sound out of breath."
"Oh, um.. Just ran up the stairs."
"Okay, cool. You know I'm actually glad you called. I just had a question that I wanted to ask you. It's totally okay if you say no. Actually it probably won't be okay. You know, to be honest, I think I'll die if you say no." he waited a few seconds as if he needed to consider what he was about to ask.

"Would you want to go on a date with me?" He took my breath away. So he is still interested in me.

"Like, a real date? I have a family thing tomorrow, but.. After, I'm free." He said. Dammit, I need to see Veronica and Dan both to talk about this. I've never actually been on a date.

"Um, yeah, yeah. For sure. I have something that I need to clear up, but I'll definitely get back to you."
"Okay, yeah. Sure."
"Um, don't die before then, okay?" I smiled.
"Okay, I'll try." He laughed. I could hear him chearing slightly after that. Like he scored the best goal ever.

To let him know I heard it I laughed.
"Um, so what are you doing tonight? I'm doing this really boring essay for school so I could really use a distraction."

"What's it about?"
"Um, I'm not really sure." He said awkwardly.
"Ahaha seems like someone's been paying attention while doing his essay."
"Actually it's been all day. My mind is just somewhere else. I can't seem to stop looking for you on campus and I haven't had the luck to find you. Or you might been running from me. And I've actually been thinking about you the whole day now. Sorry if I made this awkward now." He sniffed.

"No, don't be sorry. I actually think it's really cute. And I didn't really think you would still wanna talk to me after last night..."
"What? Are you kidding me? I loved seeing you and I can't wait to see you again. And a guy doesn't want be called cute. It usually hurts their ego's."
"Well I still think you're cute, believe it or not. You're not like other guys. You're different. A good different. Actually a really good different. You're really a good person. You make me feel slightly more confident and better about just being myself. So thank you Jamey. "

"Hey, I know you might not believe it but there's no need to be insecure. You rock Sierra! I'm really glad I got to know you. And I'll let you call me cute. But only you okay? Don't use advantage of it."

"I won't, cutie."
"Hey.." he said laughing. I laughed too.

He actually makes me feel so good. When I talk to him all my 'problems' and insecurities just faint away and I like that about him.

He makes me feel like I'm special.

Like I matter.
