ANNIE

Moving to LA was the most difficult decision they have ever made. Knowing that Caleb wasn't with us anymore, I didn't feel safe. Who would protect me when boys bullied me? What about when I can't find my favourite socks, who will find them for me? Caleb was always there for me.

I look outside the car window, admiring the blur of colours zooming past me, zoom zoom.

"Annie! Aren't you excited to be living in LA? The city where all the famous people live! Giggle giggle."

I glanced at Hayley, "I don't know Hayley, LA is quite big. The people here are not as nice as the ones back in Maryland."

"Also, don't say giggle." I added.

"But Annie!! I heard that Los Angeles has the cutest boys here! ;-) Giggle giggle."

I rolled my eyes and look back at the window, sometimes Hayley was too much for me. I love her with all my heart though.

We finally pulled up to the house, not home because without Caleb, no house is a home. It wasn't even considered a house, it was a mansion!

Hayley yeeted out of the car.

"Woahhh this is house is a mansion!! I call the biggest room so all my Jojo bows fit!"

I glanced at Hayley and just rolled my eyes at her. If I had a dollar for everytime I rolled my eyes and scolded her, I'd be rich enough to buy this house.

Dad turned around from the car, handing me boxes.

"You better head in before Hayley buys a bouncy castle to put in your room."

I rolled my eyes and responded.

"She really needs to stop spending money like we have it all. I know we moved here for a change but that's a step from living in an ordinary house to this castle!"

"Don't be so moody all the time, Annie. We moved to start over." My mom scolded at me.

"Why do we need to start over? Huh?" I shouted.

"Because we need to move on, Caleb would want us to be happy. He would not be impressed." said my mom.

"Don't bring Caleb into this conversation, it's not my fault you guys are ruining my life. I was happy in Maryland!" I yelled.

I stomped into the house and slammed the front door. Walking into the kitchen, I saw Hayley standing on the counter eating a pickle.

"UGH!" I screamed.

- TIME SKIP -

I had just finished decorating and setting up my room. Needless to say, I was really happy with the result despite the fact that I don't want to be here.

"Annie!" I heard my dad shout.

"WHAT????!!" I yelled at him.

"COME DOWNSTAIRS, WE NEED TO TALK!" My dad yelled back.

I headed down the grand marble staircases and rounded the corner to only face my parents. I hated them with a burning passion.

"You know how we moved here for a fresh start? We have decided to put you into group therapy so you can overcome your difficulties and maybe even make a few friends out of it." said Mom.

My mom took a fat sip of her tea.

"Also, you're starting public school tomorrow at King Rook High. We just don't have the time to homeschool you anymore."

I glared at my mom.

"What how could you do this to me? You expect me to go to a public school and suffer? Caleb won't be there to protect me!!" I exclaimed.

"Enough, Annie!! We have made up our minds. You can't keep bringing up Caleb, he's gone and it something you have to live with."

"ARGHHHHHH"

I stomped up to my room and slammed my door shut. I closed my eyes as tears rolled down my cheeks and fell alseep, sleeping the pain away.
