Dad!Shawn
-Warning: Severe cuteness, you might die-
-Hi guys! Posting this just to have something out! It was a really quick and easy thing, but it's ADORABLE! I have lots more work coming, so stay tuned!-
You are watching Shawn's q & a before his concert with your four-year-old baby girl, Skylar. You two are gonna sitting on the floor off to the side, so hopefully, there won't be any disruptions. There are no fans in the room yet, just you, Sky, and Shawn. There's still a few minutes before they arrive.
Before sitting down on the floor, Sky showed you how to do criss-cross applesauce. You apparently did it wrong the first three tries but she eventually let the third one pass. But when Daddy tried, he got it right on the first time, making you roll your eyes at his playful smirk.
"I'm sorry, Sky, I'll try harder next time." You tell her as you run your fingers through her dark curls, which she definitely got from Shawn.
She looks up at you with a serious look. "You really should, Mumma. You're horrible." Shawn bursts out in laughter while you look at your daughter in shock. She notices your reaction and leans into you, placing her hand on your arm comfortingly.
"No, Mumma, it's okay. Don't be sad, you'll get better." You hug her close to you as your heart melts by her words.
You kiss her head before saying, "Thank you, baby."
"Daddy was just being mean. Daddy, you should really apologize to Mumma, you hurt her feelings." Shawn's eyes widen in shock, now it's your turn to laugh.
"Honey, I don't think it was–" You glare at Shawn, silently telling him to let her have this. His face softens and he lets out a deep sigh, pulling Skylar into his lap. "Nevermind. You're right, baby girl. I'm sorry Mumma."
Soon after Shawn takes the blame for his daughter, Andrew comes in to inform us that Jake is bringing the fans in now. Sky begins to get excited, she starts to jump around and stare at the door in anticipation.
Shawn gets up and walks over to her, scooping her up in his arms, making her squeal. He tickles her sides, making her giggle uncontrollably. As soon as Shawn puts her down, she reaches out to him with her grabby hands but he shakes his head and pouts his lip.
"I'm sorry, baby, but I have to leave. I'll be right back in when the fans come, okay? You be good for Mumma." Sky promises him that she will before he kisses her on the cheek. She laughs as he does so and grabs his face, placing a wet sloppy kiss on the side of his face.
You pull her into your lap when she comes running over to you, she gets comfortable in your embrace. "Now, Sky. Remember what we told you about distractions. Daddy is working so if you want to talk, talk quietly, and don't run off. I won't be able to find you in the crowd and I don't want to lose you, baby."
She gasps and a look of fear makes its way on to her face. "I don't wanna get lost, then you and daddy will never find me." Her bottom lip quivers as she clings to your side, making your heart almost brake at the sight of her being scared.
"You won't get lost if you stay with Mumma." She nods her head in understanding and snuggles into you further.
It's halfway through the q&a and you can tell that Sky is already getting tired. She lets out a yawn and rubs her eyes as you pull her curls out of her face with a hair tie. You're proud of her, she's doing really well. She hasn't yelled out or tried to run away at all. She's just curiously watching her father interact with all of the "strange loud girls", as she likes to call them.
"What's your question, Hun?" Your boyfriend asks a girl in the back, making Skylar sit up on her knees so she can get a better look.
"Oh, hi, I was just wondering–"
Before the girl could continue, your daughter lets out a surprised gasp and bolts up on to her feet. You scrunch your face in confusion, about to ask her what's wrong, when you hear the background music.
"Daddy! Your song is playing!" She screams out, you wince as everyone in the room turns towards you and your daughter. "You have to tell them to shut it off because you're talking!" Shawn looks over at your daughter with an amused smile and nods his head, quickly looking back at Andrew who is standing off to the side and out of view. The crowd of mostly girls immediately "awws" at your daughter, making Shawn smile.
Shawn then looks back at Sky and fake gasps in surprise, widening his eyes at her. "You're right, baby. Good catch." He looks back at Andrew with a ghost smile on his face and nods his head, not a second later, the music is gone.
"That's better, 'cause what would we do if we can't hear you? It's just–they wouldn't hear!" Shawn nods at his daughter with a huge smile on his face.
"You're so smart, Sky. Come here, come to sit with daddy." Shawn reaches out towards her, looking over at you first to make sure that it's okay. You nod your head, thinking that hopefully, this will make her quiet down.
She begins to walk over to him and shrugs her shoulders, "You know, I'm just saying Daddy, that was very distracting, you know?" You adore your daughter cuteness, especially her word repetition, and it seems that Shawn's fans do too.
As soon as she's in her father's lap, a lot more flashes go off and you can hear the squeals of the fans. She looks up at her father and lays her head on his shoulder. Shawn holds her to his chest and looks down at her to make sure she's okay.
"She's so cute!" One fan calls out, making Shawn laugh and nod.
"She is so damn cute." He says, making your daughter immediately lift her head up and cover his mouth with her small hands, her eyes widening in horror.
"Daddy! NO! You can't say that word!" Shawn's eyes widen as he looks over to you, her hands still covering his mouth. You burst out laughing at your little family before getting up from off of the floor and walking over to them.
"Sky, why don't we wait for daddy to finish, just to make sure there will be no distractions at all." You whisper to her as you kneel down in front of them. Shawn just smiles at you and laughs and you both wait for your daughter's reaction.
"Yeah, okay, that's probably better." She decided with a nod of her head. Shawn lets her out of his grip and she takes your hand as you help her down the table that they were sitting on.
"So sorry about her." You tell the room before guiding your daughter towards the exit.
"Bye Daddy! We'll see you later! NO swearing!" She waves out to him, making him laugh hysterically.
"Okay, I promise, baby girl. No swearing." He nods his head at her with a big smile before you finally pull her out of the room. You hear the crowd grow louder and louder with talk of your daughter, making you look down at Sky the Troublemaker and roll your eyes.
She's just like her father.
