You and Papyrus walked into Asgore's throne room slowly, Sans had decided to teleport over to the barrier and help Asgore figure out how to break the barrier, so you and Papyrus were left alone.
The throne room was long and was colored with black and red tiles, in the middle of the room sat a throne with a black Delta Rune emblem on it and in the very corner of the room stood something covered up with a black sheet.
"THIS USED TO BE MUCH SMALLER, BUT THE KING ORDERED IT TO BE ADDED ONTO AFTER FRISK DIED." Papyrus spoke as he looked around the room.
"Really? Why was that?" You asked him curiously.
"SOME SAY HE WAS GOING EVEN MADDER THAN HE ALREADY WAS. HE USED TO LOVE FLOWERS AND THEY SURROUNDED THE FLOOR BUT, HE ORDERED THEM ALL TO BE REMOVED A FEW YEARS BACK." He replied.
"THAT WAS THE PINNACLE OF HIS MADNESS, EVERYTHING HE LOVED HE ORDERED TO BE REMOVED FROM THE CASTLE." Papyrus continued as he turned to face you.
"That's really sad," You responded as you looked at the throne.
You walked over to the throne and ran your hand over the black armrest, it was giant and if you sat in it, you'd look like a small child.
"Have you ever sat in this before?" You asked Papyrus curiously.
"IF I HAD, MY HEAD WOULD HAVE BEEN CHOPPED OFF." He responded darkly.
"Geez, that's harsh." You replied, a bit taken aback by the capital punishment.
"I KNOW, BUT ANYONE WHO DARED TO SIT IN HIS CHAIR DIED." Papyrus responded.
"Can I sit in it?" You asked him.
He seemed to panic at your words, "NO! WHAT IF HE SEES YOU?! DO YOU WANT TO DIE?!"
"Woah, calm down! I'm sure he won't see me." You responded.
"THERE ARE CAMERAS EVERYWHERE!" He exclaimed.
Sure enough, when you looked around there were security cameras everywhere. Asgore had already pardoned you once so, you shouldn't test his limits. After all, you didn't want your head chopped off in a guillotine.
You stepped away from the throne and looked over at Papyrus, "You know, you'd look good in a king's garb." you told him.
"WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT?" He asked you curiously.
You walked over to him and put your hand on your chin, you looked up at him and observed his tall stature. "You just have a kingly look to you, it's almost like you belong in that seat." You responded.
You saw a faint red blush appear on his cheekbones and he looked down at you in shock, as if he had never expected you to say such a thing. His pinpricks were wide and his mouth was opened slightly, he tore his gaze away and looked at the wall.
"WAS THAT AN ATTEMPT AT FLATTERY?" He asked, his voice soft and quiet.
"Not really, just an observation." You replied.
"WELL, I CANNOT EVER IMAGINE BEING A KING... IT SEEMS MUCH TOO STRESSFUL." He replied quietly.
"I'M A SOLDIER TO THE KING AND THAT'S ALL I EVER WANT TO BE." He quickly added.
"I understand, it's nice that you are faithful to your king." You replied.
"I WASN'T THOUGH," He responded with a sigh.
"What do you mean?" You asked him with a tilt of your head.
"WELL, YOU... I WAS SUPPOSED TO KILL YOU, YET I ENDED UP FALLING IN LOVE WITH YOU INSTEAD." Papyrus pointed out.
