'I don't understand. I don't know why. Out of all girls...it's me. Why is it me?' Every time I hear these thoughts, I see it. My past.....
(10 years ago....)
I was 4 back then. I remember my parents. I remember the joy I felt when I saw them. I remember their comfort when I cry. I remember how much.....I loved them. My mother....she was beautiful. She had dark brown hair, that almost looked black. She had pretty green eyes with light skin. No wonder dad fell in love with her. Her heart was as beautiful as her looks. I remembered how she would sing to me when I would sleep. How she would show kindness to everyone she walked by. She was perfect. At least in mine and my dad's eyes. And there was dad. He was a jolly, brave man. He protected me when I was scared or felt harmed. He had blond hair, with beautiful crystal blue eyes. I remembered his voice when he comforted me:It'll be alright, Melody. That bug is gone. Trust me."
"A-are you s-sure daddy?" I remember holding his hand tightly.
"I'm sure, sweetie. That bug is going to its family." His warm smile...
"Family?"
"Yes, sweetie. Bugs have families, too. If we hurt them, won't that make that bug's family sad?"
"Oh no! I don't want to make the buggy's family sad! For now on, I will protect the buggys!!"
"That's my sweet Melody." I remember his hugs... his kisses on the forehead. But..that's where it ended.
I heard a boom. I felt myself got knocked back. But I felt my dad's arms around me. Protecting me. I manage to look up. I saw fire. Fire at my home. I realized.....my mother was in there.
"Mommy!!" I shouted. I saw that my dad was looking. I saw terror in his eyes. I saw how
shocked he looked. I saw him running towards the house but stop. I saw men in some sort of uniform. I felt my dad picking me up, quickly running away. I saw tears in his eyes as he makes his way towards the forest. He slowed down. He set me down. Tears were falling more. I wiped them off. He smiled sadly. He kissed me on the forehead."Melody, I must go." I can hear the urgency in his voice.
"W-where daddy?" I asked as I felt myself crying.
"Somewhere far. I'm sorry. I don't want to leave...but I must. For your own safety."
"You will c-come back, r-right?"
"I-" he couldn't even finish his sentence. Why? Because there was a knife in his chest.
I was scared. I cried more. I saw my dad as he collapsed on the ground. I looked up to see the men in uniforms. I couldn't see their faces because they were wearing oxygen masks. They looked over to me. They didn't even say anything. They grabbed me. I tried to escape but that only made their grip tighter.
I called for my dad. I called my mom. I called anybody to help me. But nobody came.
They shoved me into their truck, which was also kids from around my age. They closed the truck door. And that's how I got here....
(Hello everyone! I'm glad I got this first chapter done. Or prologue. This is my first story ! If you guys have any ideas on any other stories, let me know. And yes, the main character's name is Melody. Bye!)
