jigsaw

if you and i were parts of a jigsaw puzzle,

pieces of the big picture,

you wouldn't fit in my gaps

and i wouldn't fit in yours.

no two pieces are ever identical.

all our lives we wait

for the fitting piece,

the only one that matches us.

and for us,

it's futile to try,

because if i cut part of myself

just to fit you,

i wouldn't be myself.

and i won't forget

the agony i felt

when i tried to force myself to fit you.

i've accepted that we were just not meant to be.

so i withstand the pain when fate slaps us together,

the sticky hands of a child

hitting us against each other.

i accept it when you fly across the room

to the other end.

i accept it when you aren't there for me.

all i embrace is the big picture,

because we are both still part of it.

do you ever have that moment when you regret everything you've just said?

well, guess who just had one.

with the one that meant the most to her, the one who DIDNT FIT (koff)

aight, lemme go mope
