what if

i always tell myself

these poems are for everyone

everyone but you

there was no fear

no sudden realization

no "what ifs"

because i didn't say a word

but now it's changed

i feel like i'm brave enough

to open up to you

though that's not really true

there's still this fear

that you would judge what i say

but yes, that's how i felt.

i'm not going to deny it.

it's awkward between us

and this might increase it

but what if you didn't judge

and read from my perspective?

there's a doubt

a fear

but i'm putting my life on the line

because all that

is past

it's 2019 and i'm starting anew

i'm leaving our past in 2018

so if you're worried, just chill

because it's over between us

it's okay

we're okay

so what if you came across my account?

what if you read my poems about you?

what if you read until the end?

so what if you do?

i leave it up to you.
