"Have you gotten everything with you? We wouldn't want you to forget anything for your first year!" Fussed Penelope's mum as she fiddled with Penelope's shirt for the fourth time.

"Yes, I'm fine mum, no need to worry. It is my school year, after all." Giggled Penelope as she tried to calm down her stressed-out mum. She knew it couldn't be easy for her. She was watching her only daughter go off to some weird magic school that she had never heard of before two months ago, where the only way to contact her was through owls. They of course, didn't own any owls because it isn't exactly like a common house pet, but when it was written on the letter, they had gone to this weird Diagon Ally and bought one. It especially warmed Penelope's heart that it was from her brother. It was a kind gesture from him. She knew that he had to be somewhat angry at her and she totally understood. He was probably jealous that his little sister was getting all the attention. If the same thing had happened to Penelope, she would be fuming. But even though he seemed angry, he had personally brought her an owl. A beautiful, chestnut coloured, spotted eagle-owl which she had named Athena, the Greek Goddess of wisdom. Penelope had been so touched by her brother, that she tackled him with a bear hug. Which obviously led to him complaining about how she was too heavy and then resulting into a huge cat/dog fight. But that was a typical occurrence between her and her brother.

TOOOT TOOOT

"There goes the whistle! You better hurry onto the train, or else you'll be left behind here with us and you'll have to go to a muggle school!" smirked Eric as he pushed Penelope towards the train doors. But before she went in, she gave Eric, her mum and dad a huge bear hug before getting onto the train and waving goodbye.

"Bye honey! Have a good time! And remember to make friends!" shouted her father before he got squished by the other families frantically waving their goodbyes. The train began moving, and when her family was finally out of sight, Penelope finally began her hunt for an empty compartment. Unfortunately, there were none. Penelope blew air out of her cheeks in exasperation as she started to consider her choices. There were a few girls who were quite older than her sitting in one compartment, but they looked like they were really good friends, so she decided no to go disturb them in their chit chat. In another one, there were two people kissing. Yuck. Luckily, before she could consider her other choices, a door slid open behind her and a boy's voice was heard.

"You can sit here, if you want."

Penelope turned around to be faced with a boy at her age with sandy blonde hair, freckles, muddy brown eyes, and a cute smile. Seeing him, Penelope suddenly became aware of how horrible she must have looked at the moment. Red faced from being stuck in a huge crowd at the train station, messy black hair shooting up everywhere, wild eyes and crooked clothes. She probably looked like a mess. She was unaware that she was staring at him until he said:

"Well? Are you going to come in, or what?"

Penelope snapped out of her thoughts and managed a small, "thanks" as she climbed into the compartment and seated herself on the seat opposite of the boy.

"I'm Michael Reinertsen. What's your name?" asked the boy as he stared at her.

"I'm Penelope Adler. It's my first year here. You? replied Penelope as she tried to sound as casual as possible.

"Cool! Me too. Are you a muggleborn or are you already used to all this craziness."

"Haha, I'm a muggleborn. I was totally shocked when I got my letter. I think I squealed so much that I sounded like a pig during slaughter. At least that's what my older brother, Eric said."
