A/N: Hey! I am truly sorry that I haven't been updating lately but I've just been to Oslo and I couldn't find any wifi ( but mostly I've just been on writers block). But I'm back, so I hope you enjoy.

All rights go to JK Rowling and whoever made the films, and whoever made the films.

Penelope grew restless as she writhed back and forth on her bed. Her stomach was going crazy from both nervousness and excitement. Her stomach was full of butterflies. Actually, it felt more like a huge mob of hornets. Tomorrow was going to be the day that she would learn magic. Magic which he had wished she had ever since she was three. And now, her wish had finally come true.

The wind whispered gently in her ear as she lay there, and just as Rose had said, it was quite soothing. But even with the gentle whispers, she still couldn't sleep. Therefore, she decided to go down to the Common Room where the beautiful views could help her sleep.

-------------------------

She walked down the stairs to find Alex, the boy-who-she-thought-was-a-girl sitting in the Common Room talking to a very confused looking Lorcan. Penelope wanted to slide back to her room, but they both saw her and Lorcan motioned for her to come, so she walked towards them.

"Hello, Penelope. Having trouble sleeping?" asked Lorcan friendly even though he looked like he would drop any moment.

"Yes, I guess I'm too excited for tomorrow. Am I interrupting something?" responded Penelope while looking at Alex who in her opinion, still looked a lot like a girl.

"No, not at all. Alex and I were just discussing a problem. It seems like the spell which forbids the other gender to go to the dormitory is malfunctioning even though it is clearly stated on the list of first years that Alex is a male." said Lorcan with his eyes half closed. "I really should tell Professor McGonagall that tomorrow. Otherwise, Alex won't have a place to sleep."

"Well maybe he could try to go to the girls'." wondered Penelope to herself as she looked at Alex's feminine features. Both boys seemed to have heard her because Alex just reddened and Lorcan's jaw popped open.

"Uhm, I don't think Alex would want that." was Lorcan's reply.

"Well have you asked him?" asked Penelope as she quirked an eyebrow. Both of them looked at Alex and he looked as if he wanted to run away.

"Ehm, well, uh." came Alex's fantastically understandable reply. "I uhm, I'm sort of a, transsexual?" Mumbled Alex as the newly-found-out-she looked down at her hands. Penelope thought that was quite fine. In fact, she had suspected it too. Lorcan, on the other hand, looked utterly confused.

"What's that? Is it a disease?" stuttered a quite scared Lorcan. Penelope turned to Alex and they both started laughing.

"No, it just means someone who has changed genders. In this example, Alex was biologically a male, but has decided that he, sorry she, wants to be a female. Did I get it right, Alex?" said Penelope. Alex nodded, so Penelope continued. "So maybe the stairs notice this, and won't allow her to the boys' dormitory. Maybe she'll be accepted to the girls." finished Penelope. Lorcan still looked doubtful but gave them a sign to give it a try. Penelope grabbed Alex's arm and made her walk up the stairs. And sure enough, the stairs allowed Alex to pass. Alex gave a huge smile to Penelope and they both looked at Lorcan. To their surprise, he seemed quite okay with it.

"Well that's great! We've solved our problem. Tomorrow I'll go tell Headmaster McGonagall about this in case there are any others who have the same problem as Alex. Oh, and since you guys both look like it's a miracle that I'm just accepting this, Ravenclaws are not put off by people who march to a different tune; on the contrary, we value them! Now go to sleep, otherwise you won't be able to stay up tomorrow." said Lorcan gladly.
