Watching him begin to move after the dead silence he was trapped in was amusing. Squirming, feeling around the handcuffs his hands were inside of. Watching his chest heave up and down, small whimpers of pain echoing through the room. It brought small amounts of joy into my heart and I was excited about what Markus would think of their beautiful work. It was me that took the guy here, and he must be happy with me.

"Elly, you think you could come here for a second?" My name was called behind me. I turned on the barstool and looked to see Markus twiddling with a knife. It's blade was curved, like the one I had always dreamed of. I stood up, looking at my hand for a moment to examine the scar left on my palm. As I drew closer to him he locked eyes with me. Suddenly those blue eyes weren't as warm, more cold than ever. "Proud of yourself?" He asked flashing a smile. They were straight, minimal discoloration to them. I never had the guts to ask about his past. I always figured that his mother made him get braces early on as a kid.

I nodded in response offering my hand to him. He laid the knife in my hand and closed my fingers around the handle. It was sturdy, and had a good weight to it and I went to touch the blade with my other hand. His hand grabbed my wrist before I touched the blade. I looked up at him and tilted my head. He took the handle in his free hand and angled the blade toward me. I watched the blade inch toward my arm, and draw a narrow cut down it. The blood wasn't bad as the cut was barely there. "Do you trust me?" The knife lifted from my skin and he drew the same line on his arm.

"Yes," I replied breathing out watching the blood drip. "We're going to have to let him rest for a little before we release him," he said slowly cleaning the blade with his shirt. The cut stung but I almost wanted more. I felt a warm hand on my face it was sticky as well. "Wow Elly, who knew you looked so good with blood on your face," Markus said lifting his hand from my face. I pressed my lips together in a tight line and gave a robotic nod before heading up the where the dressing room once was. I took a look into the mirror to see a perfect handprint of red on my face. I felt like a monster. The dread of having to face Markus again made my heart pound. Maybe this wasn't for me? We're going to get caught, I just know it. The world is spinning and I feel my breathing get heavier.

Things won't be alright.
