Everyone was at Uncle Max's having a small party for Kyle.  Although, nothing in the Jacobson household is ever small when it comes to celebrating.  Gran and Maria had blown up balloons and hung them everywhere.  Mom had cooked a buffet of different foods.  That was one thing that my Mom liked doing... cooking.  She always had done since I was little.

"So what party are you going to tonight then Kyle?" My Dad asked, with an eyebrow raised.

"Just a graduation thing that a couple of people have arranged.  Its basically just going out for something to eat or something," he replied, trying not to sound like the rubbish liar that he is.  Dad just nodded.  Looked like Kyle was in the clear... for now.

I quickly slipped out of the room before anybody noticed and grabbed my book bag from by the door.  I slipped out and decided to take a walk.  There was only so many Jacobson's that I could manage in one day.  Tonight the house was just too full for my liking, and some of the family weren't even here!

After plugging my headphones into my ears and putting my iPod on shuffle I started to make my way down the street.  I was bobbing my head to the music whilst thinking about all of the work I had to get done before I got back to college after summer.  Adding it all up in my head it wasn't sounding fun.

As I reached the stop light I saw a girl in the corner of my eye, and couldn't stop looking.  She was amazing.  I waited impatiently for the stop light to change to red so I could stop torturing myself.  I couldn't break the no dating rule.  I wasn't like Kyle.

The light turned red, and I took one last look behind me at the mysery girl as I crossed.  All of a sudden I landed with a thud onto the floor.  There was a screech of tires as the truck stopped and I rolled off this girl immediately as not to hurt her.

"Are you ok?" I asked her, slightly panicing.

"Uh...yeah I think so," she groaned.

"I can't believe I just did that.  You- you saved my life."  I was still shocked.  I couldn't walk away without that last look at her, but had she not been paying attention, I could have died.

"It's fine.  It's a good thing I was here, I guess."

I scooted a little closer to her, I wanted to be as close to her as possible.  She let out a small cry of pain as I moved her hair away from her face.  Her eyes were amazing... But then I noticed a cut on her forehead.  "You cut your head," I said breathlessly.  Wow, I was feeling slightly dazed.  A girl had never had this much impact on me before.

"I did?" she asked.  Her fingers reached to the cut on her head and she squinted.  "I guess I did.  It's all right, really, just a bump.  She tried to get up but I put my hand on her shoulder to keep her in place.  I didn't want her to leave yet, plus I needed to check that she was okay.

"Whoa.  Wait, ok?  Let me call an ambulance.  If something happened to you after you saved me..." I trailed off.  I didn't even know what to say next.  I had it bad for this girl, and I couldn't do anything about it.

"Realy, that's not necessary.  I'm fine."  I frowned, and debated letting her go on, but I just couldn't part with her just yet.  It was weird.  Her soft brown curls framed her face as she looked expectantly at me for my answer.  I looked into her eyes and got lost for a minute, until I realized where we were.  I smiled slightly at her.

"Please, let me take you to the hospital at least."  I moved her hair away again to have a closer look at her injury.  I had a sudden intake of breath from being so close to her, and it seemed like she did too.  I was curious if we'd imprinted, but that was impossible.  I didn't see any visions.  "It doesn't look too bad, but... let me call someone for you.  I'd feel better."
