I didn't use a prompt for this one, but I put the thought here as a prompt. Just in case.
Prompt: Your Sweet Escape.
°°°
I sat in the clearing under the stars. I was glad to finally have some time to myself.
Family can be smothering sometimes. And even though I love them, sometimes I just wish they'd leave me alone.
But they can't because, lets face it, they're family.
So I take whatever time I can get for myself. Even if I have to sneak out the window to do it. That's why I'm such good friends with the night, I suppose. It's the only time I get for me.
So I lay here in the ground. Grass beneath me, trees around, and stars above.
I listen to the music nature breathes around me. The leaves in the trees rustling in the wind. Crickets chirping, frogs croaking. The soft flowing of the creek nearby.
Nothing but me and the sweet sounds of the woodland night.°°°
I never realized how long it took to write such a little bit...
Oh well! Thoughts?PS: Somehow I thought stuff got posted that didn't, so I'm posting all the crap today!
