I wait until everyone leaves before approaching the boy. I walk towards him slowly, noticing the change in the atmosphere now that it's just me and him.

"Um, you wanted to see me?," I ask him, a bit nervously.

But he doesn't answer me. Instead, he just looks at me, very somberly. Suddenly, he leans towards me, putting his face very close to mine.

I notice how good-looking and handsome he is, and I blush, but I don't look away.

Then he crosses his arms and walks around me. I can feel his eyes taking in every inch of me, and my body tenses, like I'm expecting something to happen. After he makes a full rotation, he faces me again.

Looking me up and down,"You don't look like much," he finally says. "But you're surprisingly a very good skater."

Then he does something that really surprises me. He lifts up my shirt and bends his head to look at my stomach.

I know that my stomach is a little bit flabby, and I quickly grow embarrassed.

"Ah, don't look!," I say to him and pull my shirt down as fast as I can. My face is reddening like a cherry.

     He picks his head up.

"Oh, ah, I didn't mean to embarrass you," he says to me, blushing a little.

He clears his throat then continues.

"Anyways, I, uh, was really impressed by your performance earlier. After watching everyone else, I was afraid we wouldn't get anyone good this year. Where did you learn to skate like that?"

"Well," I answer, recovering from the embarrassment, "I've been skating since I was three years old, and was part of a skating team in high school and middle school. I guess that's where I learned pretty much everything I know about skating."

"Interesting," he says. "Well, then I'm glad to tell you that you'll be part of the university's team too."

He gives me a small smile, and a part of his hair falls over one of his eyes.

I smile back a big smile. "Thank you so much!" I say happily and bow.

He laughs a deep but soft laugh.

"Why are you bowing?" He looks at me as I've done something very funny.

"Ah, sorry, it's just a habit," I reply, once again embarrassed. In Japan, we would bow all the time, and it's been hard to break the habit, even though it's been years since I've lived there.

"You're so adorable," I think he mutters.

     "What?" I ask him.

"Ah, nothing," he replies while rubbing the back of his head. "Well, I've kept you long enough. You're free to go now."

"Okay. Well, have a nice day..." I trail off, not finishing the sentence.

He laughs. "It's Viktor. Viktor Nikiforov." He heavily rolls his r's and the sexy purr of his accent sends slight chills down my spine.

     "Have a nice day Viktor."

     "You too. Yuri."

I begin to walk towards the exit but stops when Viktor calls out to me.

"Oh, and Yuri," he says, "welcome to the team."

I turn back around to see him, his hair is fallen over one eye, smiling. And then he winks at me, and I feel butterflies in my stomach.

I nod, then walk out, thinking about how happy I am to be on the team. The team of the university I had dreamed of joining. Thinking about how I had just talked to Viktor Nikiforov. The man I have heard and seen so much about, yet pretended to not know his name.

It seems so unreal that I can hardly believe it.

I'm on Delgado Univesity's skating team. With Viktor Nikiforov.
